Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll
Although I believe their name is Cable Ties, I call them Zip Strips.
How good is a poll that tells you the "correct" answer, anyway? (although not many people pick that one) |
Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll
At work we call them electrical ties. Something different, and yet logical.

Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll
Ya know...
I'm sure back in the day, there were neigh-sayers out there who called playdough, "modeling clay". Or maybe Kleenex, "nasal tissue". Or Coca Cola..."Carbonated Soda Beverage" Eventually the bold ones win out. Good always wins over evil in the end. I mean seriously...Americans are stubborn when it comes to things like this. Just look at the metric system. Just keep callin them Bar-Loks my friend. Eventually the rest of the world will be infected. -Andy Grady |
Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll
I usually call them zip ties, (well, they do make a zipping noise and they hold things together, like tying a string around them) but I have been known to call them chain tensioners from time to time.

Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll
Ty-Rap, like Bar-Lok, is a registered trademark for a brand of cable ties. Zip may have been a trademark at one time (like Aspirin) but it's not now.
Just as long as the communication is clear for everyone, you can call them "Luxury Yacht"* for it matters. Don (* Pronounced "Throat-warbler Mangrove") |
Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll
I can still remember scouting Team Voltage and the conversation I had with one of them about zip-ties vs. Tye-wraps.
I've always called them zip ties, they do make that zipping noise... Never heard of Bar Lok before. |

That's what's coming to you, if you persist in calling them Bar-Loks. :p |
