The Offical Bar-Lok Poll

After many disputes, it is time to settle this once and for-all.

I must agree with Andy Grady on this one....

Well, looking at the poll results, it seems that zip-ties is the most common answer...

Is there a joke that I am missing somewhere about Bar-Lok?

[Edit]Thanks for explaining that little part [Edit]

How do you figure they're "Bar-Lok"s anyway? It definitely says "Bar-Lok(r) Cable Ties" on the bag...

Unless you, like, put them in people's hair or something.

It's zip ties, though.

Well, according to wiki, Bar-Lok is another name.

(BTW... I did not add it to the wiki page. ;) )

Re: The Offical Bar-Lok Poll

Coming into robotics, I had always called them "tie straps" when using them in RC cars and such. My dad's an electrical engineer, and that's what he called them, so that's what I called them.

I'll never forget my first day, when we got to work on building the field, and our head of mechanical told me to give her some zip ties. "Some whats?" "....zip ties." "Oh you mean tie straps, right?" "....no, what the heck is a tie strap"

I tried to maintain my terminology as long as I could.. but it was no use :p

We call them tie wraps. I think it might just depend on where your from on what you call them.

Err... that zip noise and other noises like it (Velcro un... velcroing, for instance) hurt my ears like nails on a chalk board.

And I've got Andy Baker on my side... no one beats Andy Baker... Refer to this thread if you'd like to dispute that.
