Wow.

Mission Mayhem was a BLAST.

I miss everyone so much already!
Thanks to Stranahan High and 1345 for graciously hosting the event.
Thanks to all the Mayhem Crew & volunteers for keeping everything running so smoothly, and to Arefin, George, and Drew for being fantastic voices of the competition.

This was my first Mission Mayhem, and I'm definitely adding this to my list of annual events.

Congrats to the winning alliance 233, 180 and 108, and thank you for your gracious professionalism in using your timeout to allow the finalists, 179, 744 and 1523, to repair a failed banebots transmission on our robot.

A few more specific thank yous:
Arefin - You do so much work and don't really get recognized... thank you for everything you do
Libby - For the Kamen luck, it worked :)
1251 - The loaner radio was a lifesaver - we were knocking out both partner's working radios
744 - We would have had no chance the final match the last match without your tranny plates... and even after we somehow managed to tear through them in a single match nobody was even slightly upset. Being partners for 5 qualifying matches was unusual but worked well in the long run!
179 - Was nice to finally get a shot to pair up and we did pretty well I'd say. Thanks also for trusting a rookie driver on a broken bot against an incredible alliance. Can't keep getting 2nd place though; next year!

And to everyone that came out and made the mayhem happen!

Glad I could help, Tim. Not like you needed it, you did a great job driving.

I forgot, in last night's post (I was so tired at that point, running around all day will do that to you), to give my congratulations to 233, 108, and 180, as well as congratulate all the other fantastic teams I saw for playing well, and playing graciously.

It was truly a great event, and I already can't wait for next year's. Although, we may have to deal with water on the field in '08 (even if it IS indoors!) :p

Now that I am recovered from Mayhem the whole event went pretty smoothly on a whole. Thanks to everyone from out of state who helped to put the field together and kept the competition running smoothly from the whole planning committee. Congratulations to 233,180 and 108 on the win. This was definitely the best mayhem yet. :yikes:

On behalf of 108, I would like to thank everyone who attended Mayhem and thank 1345 and 1251 for the support throughout the day. Especially our alliance 233 and 180. We had a great time and hope everyone else did. It's too bad everyone couldn't get FIRST place.:(

Mission Mayhem was my last opportunity to see this great game of Rack 'n Roll played. I will miss it - it has been a great game, created some magical moments that I will always remember, some fantastic robots, and it has encouraged teams to do their best.

Good stuff, that.

Mission Mayhem organizing committee - thanks for putting together an awesome event and for welcoming out of state FIRSTers to share the fun. May your event continue to grow and prosper. The teams were awesome.

This was my first FRC event to attend, and I wasn't disappointed! I was very impressed with the display of talent, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship displayed by EVERYONE there. I look forward to mingling and networking with other parents/mentors at upcoming events. :D

Welcome to the FIRST community Mike!

...pssssst Hey Gary! You got one on the hook! :D

Seriously, Gary tells me you've gotten a tremendous response for the HAZE team this year. Best of luck to you!

Don't worry Eric; Mike (and his son Nick) are hooked, reeled in and ready to gaff, along with everyone else who came - we brought 2 veterans (out of only 3 returning), 7 rookies, 1 in between, 3 mentors and 3 new parents.

We had a blast. The support from around the country (Andy & Mark, Jane, Billfred, KokoEd to name just a few I ran into from out of state - there were many more) was outstanding.

Special thanks to Billfred and team 1618 for letting us borrow their radio; it got quite the workout (we re-loaned it to one of the teams in the other elimination matches).

Did everyone else notice how slim and trim George Wallace looked at Mayhem? I hardly moved backward when we did a chest bump. Way to go George! Hopefully I can drop a few pounds this year.
