how about we make a shirt with all of the logos made?
that way, no one is left out.
plus, all the amazing logos can be shown off!

Although that would be a pretty cool idea, the problem with this is that shirts become more and more expensive to make with every additional color you put on there. Considering that many different people made each logo, and each logo has many different colors, it would probably cost way too much to put them all on the shirt.

So, unfortunately, one does have to be chosen. :( Unless someone can figure out a use for a collage of all the logos printed out on paper or something else.

I am aware of this problem.... which is sort of why I proposed that. I'm sure some of the creators won't mind altering the colours a bit, and if the colours are limited to say, 4 or 5 in total, and we choose a logo or two from each artist, then we might be able to come up with something really cool.
But then again, it could just be something unrealistic that I am thinking of.

Best. Logos. Ever.

I plan to be there, lets make try to make two years in a row where I don't get whacked in the head by flying lexan.

I'll volunteer wherever needed. Florida is saturated with excellent announcers, if you need me for scorekeeping and field reset again thats fine.

Re: Mission Mayhem 2007

Hello Everyone,

First of all, thank you to everyone for submitting entries for the logo contest. They were all great and beautiful submissions. The committee and DeVry have voted and we have an official Mission Mayhem Logo. The criteria used to choosing the logo were:

1) You must have the FIRST and the DeVry logo in the Mission Mayhem logo without breaking the FIRST logo rules.

2) Use as few colors as possible so the cost of the shirts are minimal.

It is my pleasure to announce that we have chosen the smiling sun logo created by Edward Patterson (known as Koko Ed on the forums). It is simple and uses few amounts of colors. Koko took the red from the FIRST logo and used it in the font with black border, also, took the gold from the DeVry logo and used it in the sand. He also has both FIRST and DeVry logo in the Mission Mayhem logo. The logo also has the “Florida looks.” Thank you Koko for taking your time and modifying the logo as we asked you to. =)

We have also released the Mission Mayhem website (Thank you to our webmaster, Tim Arnold and Michelle Celio). Please register your team through the website (payment information will be sent out at the end of June). Volunteers, please register through the site as well. You are an official volunteer only if you register through the website. We also have a venue. The competition will take place at Sunset Lakes Community Center in Miramar, Florida (we do have a high school gym as a backup arena just incase). Again, the date for the event is September 8th, 2007. We will have a full FIRST field shipped down here from NH. We are looking forward to another great event.

Re: Mission Mayhem 2007

It has been brought to the Mission Mayhem Staff's attention that the registration forms for volunteers and teams on our website have been returning a bunch of gibberish code after you sign up, where the conformation screen should be. The code was merely a debug output that was accidentally left on, and has been corrected.

If you had previously filled out a form, please do not re-submit, as we have received all the applications successfully. Thank you :)

Re: Mission Mayhem 2007

First of all, I apologize for not posting anymore information about Mission Mayhem 2007 for a good while. It's been a heck of a month for the committee members. Recently I met with the director of the committee John Burke and the right hand man for the event David Ellich. We worked few things out, worked on some details and we are ready to release more information.

The date didn't change. Mission Mayhem 2007, sponsored by DeVry University, will be held at the home of the Platinum Dragons (team 1345), Stranahan High School (Davie, Florida) on September 8th, 2007. The website for the event is www.missionmayhem.org ... few things still need to be updated which should be done by the end of this weekend.

Team mentors/leaders, you will be receiving information about how to make payments by the end of this weekend. Registration fee is $250. You can make the payment using paypal or by sending a check (info will be in your inbox soon). Please register your team by August 24th, 2007.

As I have mentioned before, you will only be an official volunteer if you sign up through the website. Please go to the "volunteer" tab on the website. Volunteers will be receiving an email by the end of August with their job assignment.

About the volunteering thing (though I can't sign up until I know what classes will be like around the date): Will there be any 2X shirts? (98% of the time, me + an XL T-shirt = trouble.)

I will check into that and let you know as soon as possible. It would be nice to have you down here again.
