Team 222 can't wait for tomorrow. I'm getting ready to head up to the school and put some finishing touches on our new prototype bot we will be competing with. Can't wait to see how it performs on the field. See you all there in about 17.5 hours!

Uppercut made the trip up largely in one piece, though the gripper broke hard in practice.

Time to claim our spot as the finest flying brick.
(in the South)
(at a New Jersey event)
(in the off-season)
(piloted by a pre-rookie team)
(this year)

I came home early so if anyone could list final matches/awards that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

Well, teams 888-869-555-2888 got second and 25-1089-1627(I'm not to sure if that the team number, it is the St. Joes team) got first.

1089 got eliminated in the semifinals.

It was 1923, 25, 1627 and 222 that won.

We did, however, win the evil sundae contest. BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Ah that would be why I remembered 1089. Great job with that sundae, I don't think our team even came close to finishing half of it.

Thank you 1089 for picking us! We had an awesome time!

Nice!!! Glad to see that JP Stevens already is making some headway into Chief Delphi! You're moving faster than we had thought! It was great working with you, and great seeing one of our old robots in action again!

I'm downloading pictures from my camera right now. Brunswick Eruption was a lot of milestones for me--longest drive, first time taking a robot across state lines, first time working with prerookies--but it was absolutely worth it.

I have a long, long, list of thank-yous...

First and foremost, thanks to 25 for setting the whole concept into motion. They're onto something with this pre-rookie thing.

Second, thanks to Gail Van Ekeren and the crew from Gill St. Bernard's School, otherwise known as 2458. These kids came in cold on Friday night, and by the end of our (far-too-brief) run they were slinging Uppercut around like they'd done it for weeks. No matter how hard we broke (and we broke hard), they were always willing to jump in anywhere they could. I'm proud of this group for many reasons, and I hope we cross paths sometime in the future. They're the real deal.

Big thanks to all the teams who helped us with tools and parts; 25, 1626, 888, 103, and 1676 all come to mind, but I'm sure there are others I don't remember.

Thanks to Alexa Stott and her family for putting me up the past few days. Duel last year notwithstanding, I've never been in New Jersey before; it's been an interesting adjustment experience.

I'll have pictures up soon, and then it's time to hit the hay. 680 miles down, 680 to go.

Hey Mike! Don't worry, I totally had the field reset crew under control! :p Missed you there though...

BE was sooo much fun, I'm really glad I decided to take the trip down. Thanks to Ed for driving and Alexa for letting me stay over.
