I could think of some good songs that could be used for the music in competitions. Sandstorm is an excellent song, overplayed or not.

"Guitar vs. Piano 1.2" by Goukisan is a great song that would fit perfectly.
"Robot Rock" by Daft Punk would fit okay.

of course i'll have to say the most fitting/appropriate would be the unmistakable sandstorm by darude, but one song i didn't know about and loved after regionals was castles in the sky by ian van dahl (spelling?)
