Rack N' Roll Flash Game

For my Web design final project I began working on a flash game to directly reflect this years Robotics competition. It has now become my summer project. Currently the name is Rack N' Roll Simulator. Very generic, but I came up with it on the spot just so I could move on. It is still in its very early stages, however the game portion has functionality. Currently, you can pick up tubes, drop tubes, put tubes on the rack, and de-score tubes from the rack. I haven't designed all three levels into the rack, however. That will come later (when I actually get an idea for it).
Anyway, what I want from you is a medium to low resolution render of your robot in Inventor. These will become the robots that you choose from to form your alliance before the game starts. If you can help me out I'll put you and/or your team in the credits of the game.

Checklist:
1 med to low rez Inventor Render (Isometric) (640 x 480 max)
1 Description of the robot including:
Defensive?
High Scoring?
Special Features
Ramps?/How many Robots?
Team # (for the credits)

P.S. I am developing this in Flash 8 with Actionscript 1.0 & 2.0. If any one has comments/questions/suggestions/can offer help it would be much appreciated.

My future goals for this game are to release it to the entire FIRST community so everyone can enjoy it. Then possibly go further and advertise for FIRST by spreading it around the net (like a recruiting tool).

Enjoy the pictures:

I'll get you a picture of our robot from this year, this seems like a really cool game. Is there some particular angle you want, how the drive works, the range of the arm, autonomous capabilities etc?

Sounds like a very interesting project.

How do you plan to import the models from inventor? Are you just going to have a top view, or would you like to have a 3D world? If you do a top-down view then how do you plan to show the multiple layers of the rack?

Anyway you do it I would be more than willing to help with the programming.

Can our robot stay as Master Chief?

And what if we didn't use Inventor to CAD our robot?

I don't think you really have to show all the layers 3-D style. You could just have a box at the bottom of the screen that displays ringer placement (like on the big screen at competitions) and have buttons for determining if your robot performs its action (scoring, spoiling, etc) on the top, middle or bottom rows.

Is that good? I used the pink to help you with transparency.
Robot description:
Uses a pair of bright orange fingers to grab the tube from the inside, attacked to a fast moving elevator. Elevator mounted on a powerful 8 wheel drivebase, traveling at 9ft/s, single speed.
Able to score on all 3 levels very quickly.
Able to climb almost all angle ramps
High scoring
Defensive if needs be, but built for scoring.
Special Features:
Servo lock brakes, locks all 8 wheels with 2 steel pins
Very fast elevator
Very fast gripper

Currently has no ramp.

Team #25.

This is probably asking alot, but I think it opens a whole new can of worms for FIRST:
Make it multiplayer.

How cool would it be if every year someone made a multiplayer simulation of the year's game with the ability to "make" your own robot or have your robot built from a CAD design in-game? Post-competition season I think that'd be ALOT of fun for the spare 5-10 minutes I have every now and then at work.

I know nothing about Actionscript, but if you want to take it to the next level (full S/W dev project) I'd be more than willing to help because that's all I do all day at my job.

http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=54997 Someone is already making a multi player, build-your-own robot, online Flash game for this year's game.

I'd love to try and get my team's bot in on this. Let me get the file from school and render it.

Wonder when near-full scale 3d projects(not from flash) of FIRST games will be made.
Just need to inspire and be inspired and takes some enterpreunship from FIRST 3D programers.

A good isometric view of the entire robot would be good. As you can see the, the images are not that detailed in the initial selection screen, however the robots will be modeled directly after your team's in the flash game its self. Range of the arm and Autonomous info would be great too.
