I'm trying to avoid some of the weekend NYC traffic tomorrow and am hoping to leave CT early - does anyone know if it's better to go (from Hartford, CT) 84 to 684 to 87, down the Garden State to NJ Tpke; -or- take I91 south to 95 and stay on it all the way down to 276?

Having done both, I suggest 84 to 684 to 87 to the Turnpike - just my preference personally. Going the other way seems to be more of a headache for me.

I can second that!

Any time that I go to New England from Philly, I make my way up the Garden State Parkway and across the Tappan Zee Bridge.

I'll be hitting the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Sunday before my flight back to Orlando. I've been challenged to culture myself...

Most definately the Tappan Zee is the better of the bridges. Going I-95, you'll have to take the George Washington Bridge, and honestly, it's a mess any time of the day haha.

Hope you have a safe trip down and are ready to RIOT at Ramp Riot tomorrow :)

Re: Ramp Riot 2007: The Official Thread

I was wondering what time volunteers should get there. I know your schedule said 5:30 for 341 team members is this the time you want volunteers to arrive. If so I might be a little late bc I live an hour away.

I can’t wait to see every one there.:yikes:

Thanks you,

Matt

I unfortunately can not attend the event today due to family matters, however I wish the teams and volunteers a good luck towards a great event.

I unfortunately couldn't attend the Ramp Riot this year, and i was wondering how the days event went? Last year it was a ton of fun and I had a blast.

Re: Ramp Riot 2007: The Official Thread

Ramp Riot was quite the riot, but a fun one, nevertheless. :)

As for the results of the last off season replay of Rack 'N' Roll:

Alliances: All are not necessarily listed in the correct order that teams were picked, but it's pretty close
1. 1218, 103, 1302
2. 365, 1712, 224
3. 104, 423, 433
4. 623, 87, 341
5. 1640, 539, 222
6. 25, 1403, 834
7. 357, 1030, 522
8. 709, 768, 2234

Each alliance also received a fourth partner. I'm not quite sure who belonged to which alliance, but I remember 173 being a part of the 4th seeded alliance, and 1219 (team 1218's pre-rookie) joining the sixth seeded alliance.

1 vs. 8
2 vs 7
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

8 vs 4
7 vs 6

8 vs 6

365 won the food collection/Mike Wade Memmorial Award, 357 won the Spirit Award, and 1219 won an award whose full name is currently escaping my remembrance. I'm sure Mr. Ostrow will post a more detailed summary.

I'd like to thank our alliance partners once more for a fine run, and commend 1219 for playing some great defense during the semis and finals while 1403 was making repairs to their robot.

As always, it was great to meet new people, and catch up with old friends.

Sorry I missed out on Ramp Riot this year. I would have liked to have attended, but my 50 hour work week ended at 2:00am:D

I was thinking about asking to setup a booth, but maybe next year!

Needless to say I slept in today until 3:30pm:eek:

There are so many people to thank for helping us produce Ramp Riot 2007. It really takes so many to pull off an event like this. Here are just a few of the people that helped us make this a day to remember!

Most importantly our team would like to acknowledge MIKE WADE of NASA Goddard SFC for being there for us since 2002. Mike’s passing was a big loss to all of us. We miss his smiling face, his kind words and his unwavering dedication to the betterment of young people.
