Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

so, is there any room left for a poor old team trying to double up a keeper?

Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

It was announced at Kettering that there are still 5 places left.

C'mon. I want to see that double keeper!

Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

i noticed there are 23 teams listed on the ford first site.how would you run the team selections if this number holds? this is our last chance to double up . hope we get it. oh, we might have another trick up our sleeve. guess you have to be there.;)

Last official number I heard was 24, I'm not sure where the one on the site came from. We'll see how it turns out.

Can't wait to see what 910's got in store for us :D

Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

wow, where to start. i want to thank arc for a great event. the young ladies on the field did a great job. thanks to team 1625.couldn't have done it without you.the only thing that could have made it better is if you pulled off the backside keeper. please thank your scout/rep again for me. he made the right choice. 313, not bad for a first time driver. you done good. special thanks to the team that helped us get our bot fixed before semi's. don't know who, maybe someone can help me out with that one.
i would like to say sorry if our celebrating seemed over the top to anyone, but you couldn't have written a better scrip. a season ending event. possible the last match. our last chance for a double keeper.
thanks again to everyone. see you at kickoff.:ahh:

Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

i would also like to compliment all the volunteers and refs for running what i believe was a complaint free event. And 910 wow just wow. i have to admit it was rather scary facing off against three juggernauts of FIRST (47,68,70).

Thank you to all the volunteers who made this competition a success. It is out last event of the off-season, and what an event it was. Thank you to 1625 and 313, you guys made absolutely awesome partners and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you to 47, 68, and 70 for some great matches. It was a blast driving against you guys and you were some tough opponents.

I couldn't have wished for a better last event for the year, and now I can't wait for the next season. :D

Great Competition guys.

I would like to thank teams 910, 1625, and 313 for the great matches and congrats to team 910 for their double keeper score, I could not think of a cooler way to be defeated then that. Great programming.

I also would like to thank teams 70 and 68 for their partnership with us in the elimination rounds. You guys were great partners and we had a great stretch.

Finally thanks to all the teams who participated in this event, thanks for the great matches.

Is there video of the matches? or perhaps I should study for my econ exam... Wish I could have been there :)

Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

There's a video of the last match including the double-keeper score. It's a bit fuzzy (digital camera in movie mode) but it's still fun to watch.

Go to this delphi thread and look near the bottom for the full match video: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=59048

Someone just gave me a videotape of more of the matches. I'll have to convert to digital and upload when I can find a minute.

You know, every single team we played with or against at this event was just so nice. We were rooting for all of you to do well and have the bots hold together for just one more day so it could be a fun, clean event without any wrecks or penalties deciding things. Everyone was so gracious and I think all of our new members finally got a feel for how much FUN these events and the whole "robotics" thing really is. It's like... "you just have to be there to GET it!"

Thanks again to all for just a great event, and congrats to everyone - we're all winners just for being there. :)

Re: Autumn Robotics Competition

Congrats to 910, 1625, and 313 on the win. Double-congrats to 910 for the double-keeper (pun intended).

Thanks to 448 for picking us and 453. Unfortunately our entire alliance just had too many problems (mechanical and otherwise) to overcome. Not to take anything away from our opponents - you guys deserved the win. 815, you are now considered our evil nemesis. Seriously, great defense on us - we've never had anyone able to defend us so well - we counldn't seem to get anything going.

Thanks to everone for making ARC a great event. We're now officially hyped for the 2008 season to begin.
