Printing in Inventor 2008
Hey everyone!
Just got into college, and finally able to download inventor 2008! I'm planning on learning inventor. I remember from robotics that when we printed, we printed everything out in dimensions. I just made something in inventor, and when I go to print it only prints an image. How can I get a outline image with dimensions? Sorry if this is a very n00b questions. :p |
Re: Printing in Inventor 2008
You have to create a 2D drawing of your part and dimension it. You probably now have a part model (.ipt) and need to create a drawing file (.idw). Very briefly:
1. Go to File-> New -> Drawing to create the blank file. 2. Then, create the base view of your part with the Base View tool and dialogs. 3. Next, change your tool pallet from Drawing View Panel to Drawing Annotation Panel and dimension the drawing. 4. Finally, print the drawing. To learn how to do all this properly, go to Help -> Tutorials -> Basics -> Preparing Final Drawings and work through the exercises. Enjoy! |

Re: Printing in Inventor 2008
I was able to learn Inventor in highschool from my engineering teacher.. which was also my Robotics mentor.
But listening to conversations, it seems that a knowledge of Autocad is sufficient enough for engineering majors. Will the transition be easy from Inventor to Autocad? |
