Giving Back - FIRST and IRI Style
 

This could go in several different threads, but here seems most appropriate.


Once again the FIRST and IRI community has gone 'above and beyond' to help others.

* 151 backpacks, that will be donated to very deserving 2nd grade students.
Many of these students would have started the school year with no supplies without your generosity (note, the request was one backpack per team, and we had 72 teams - some of you are over-achievers...;) )

*$2900 from the Charity Auction. $600 software, $550 quilt, $100 boots, $250 stained glass, and many, many more. Thank you to all who generously donated the items, and to those who bid and won. This money will be shared by Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Kokomo (a mentoring and support program for young men and women) and the Julian Center in Indianapolis (a shelter for abused / at risk women and children).

* Blood - I don't know how many pints were donated, but I willl get a count. This is just awesome. We may have saved someones life.

Sometimes we forget that we were there for a robotics competition... :)
