No sneakers or t-shirts either. I guess it's a good thing our teams visited when they did!

Now, whose bright idea was that?

What will they do next, tell everyone that in order to visit the Court House, you need a tux and tie? :p

This past weekend I visited the white house and there were numerous signs and posters insulting President Bush. The people who were doing it weren't particularly dressed decently either. Some had shirts saying bad words and others had either torn clothes or hardly any clothes on. So I do see a reason for the no-jeans policy. It is not intended for people who know how to dress well with jeans, it is intended for those who wear mostly torn jeans with a shirt containing bad language.

Call me old-fashioned, but I highly respect and like the policy for a number of reasons. Sure, perhaps there are grander things to worry about in our crazy little world. However, I believe that it is a sign of respect to dress a step up when you are in a government office of that level, or in any situation when you may encounter a more professional atmosphere. You don't need to slap on a tux to look classy, just take that step up and kick off your flip flops for a pair of nice shoes and pull on a pair of slacks. I promise it won't hurt you - clothing doesn't bite.

Excuse me but are not jeans considered the national costume of the U.S.? One report I read stated the average American owns 7 pairs. I know Bush wears them.

Well if he does, apparently he will not be allowed in the White House any more. :)
