Well, there's always a reason to CAD something like this. It's so if the team decides to use something like this, they don't have to take the time during build season to design it.

But most importantly, it's good to CAD out designs that have been keeping you awake at night. You sleep better afterwards.

Good point. Although I don't know how to use CAD software, I find myself in my bed, graph paper and pencil in hand, sketching out something that has been lingering in my head for a while.

Yep. I knew that. That's why I never design the way the gearbox mounts to a frame until the build season. That way it's not "complete" until it's legal to be "complete."

Rule wording is fun.
