Help!! Need Work

Help!! Just got let go from the place I have been driving a truck for. I was there nine years. I own my own truck (just bought a new one last year). We use to have 4 trucks last few years we have been down to two. Since the first of this year barely enough work to keep us both busy. So today they said they will only call when they really need me. I looked at the report that tells the work for the next month or so. Guess what there is not enough work for one truck. So if there is anybody (or knows someone) in the Hartford CT area that is in the need of a class b 24ft box truck owner/operator for local hauling let me know.
Thank you.
BOB

I wish I could help, but all i can offer is...

Don't Despair

This happens to almost everyone at one point or another. (HS Students, take note!) It is rarely fatal, but never ever fun. Things can get rough, but for you I hope only the very best.

Look around - who uses a truck to move things? Better, who is using a truck now? Ask - not just here, but go knocking on doors, anyone you meet* - and see what's out there. Even an odd job here and there will help until something solid comes through.

You're also in my prayers, FWIW.

Don

*Literally, everyone. You never know who has a need for that, the kid in the bagel shop's dad, maybe the guy walking his dog in the park....

just an idea but maybe you could offer some moving service or something. since its an odd job you could provide more personalized attention or something. try checking your local craigslist or posting on it.

Bob,

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but about 4 yrs. ago my husband was in the same situation. He was laid off from his engineering job and took it as an opportunity to change careers and become a teacher (he already knew he had an interest in that area from his work as a mentor with 558). Now he is teaching in Guilford, mentoring in New Haven, and happy doing so. So just hang in there, things will work out.
