but just to make sure that everyone that wants BBQ knows... Sardis' Den is a bar. there is also a BBQ place on highway 123 near the McDonalds. it is about a 5 min drive from the venue, but i have never been there... but i heard that it was good.

This would be the perfect time for someone from 1902 to chime in:p

Here is my prediction for next week:

100% chance that there will be a SC team on the winning Alliance.
70% chance the winning alliance will be all SC teams again.
There will be a SC team in Einstein again this year (woot 1319!)

Clemson has a great campus life and Engineering. Computer Science, Math, etc programs. (I am biased because I am a graduate and have 2 sons going there). Friday at 12:30 there is an Engineering School campus tour. You can sign up at the website if you can break away or come back sometime later and see what Clemson has to offer.

Okay...now we know the why behind the last minute move ;)
Just kidding... :P

I've heard you guys have a good bot. It's a shame that there are no videos from FL on the Blue Alliance website.

The social for Palmetto sounds like a lot of fun. Someone said there would be bowling and stuff like that in the student center? Does anyone know if you have to pay to do these? You had to pay for everything other than food in Peachtree. -.-

Re: 2008 Palmetto Regional

From the Palmetto Regional site:

This year's team social will be held at the University Student Union. FIRST students will have access to the Harcombe Dining Hall, Clemson's ultimate eating experience, where you can find everything from a meat + three, to salads, to pizza. Edgar's, a gathering place for recreational diversion, features bowling, billiards and video games. The Union Courtyard offers an area for socializing, relaxing or strategizing. And most important - our FIRST guests will want to check out the Palmetto Ballroom where they can learn all about Clemson's College of Engineering and Science from departmental displays and representatives. Just a few minutes' walk from Littlejohn Coliseum, the Union facilities will give students an opportunity to eat, play, relax, and learn more about engineering and science opportunities at Clemson University.

To the best of my knowledge everything is free to the teams. That was one downer of the Peachtree regional (having to pay for the games), but there were lots of them that's for sure. Peachtree did have that huge mall to get lost in, which was nice to wander through.

As far as BBQ, the place out on Hwy 123 is Big Dave's, very good:D The smell from the cooker out front will make you want to stop by. It's a little hole in the wall type place, but those seem to have the best BBQ. There are a lot of places to eat at around Clemson. That's one of the results of being a college town; fast food:yikes:
