As far as BBQ, the place out on Hwy 123 is Big Dave's, very good:D The smell from the cooker out front will make you want to stop by. It's a little hole in the wall type place, but those seem to have the best BBQ. There are a lot of places to eat at around Clemson. That's one of the results of being a college town; fast food:yikes:

thanks Josh! that was the one that I was thinking of:D

Re: 2008 Palmetto Regional Social

Frank Lanford, the Regional co-chair provided me this data about the social...

no DJ...just some music....Dancing is not allowed at a FIRST Team Social...bad past experience/liability.

Yes..it is my understanding that the games are free and students can overflow into the quad area.

---
I have noted that there are only 10 bowling lanes and 6 or 8 game tables.
That is a lot for 500 students to try to use at the same time.

Re: 2008 Palmetto Regional... Hurdle and catch? Best moves?

Has anyone seen a robot hurdle and then catch their own ball?

What are the best moves you have seen that I need to pump up the audience to be looking for?

Re: 2008 Palmetto Regional

well... that would be illegal, so it doesn't matter. when you hurdle, the ball has to touch the floor or another robot before it touches yours again.

Thats a bit totalitarian is it not... almost right out of the dark ages.
Don't seem to be much else to do there...
It's ironic dancing NOT allowed at a closed event such as the social but encouraged at the public event of the matches where bad dancing to bad music seems to be a normal embarrassment.

It's pretty standard, back even when I was a wee little rookie:

Now, the question is this: Does 900 still have this on their robot? (They did in 2005 and 2006 for sure.)

Haha. Sorry about that. I just realized that you had originally posted that comment. I thought that hipsterjr had originally posted the comment about working with us. (You had meant working with us in Peachtree I thought he meant working with us last year at Palmetto. I should probably pay more attention to who posts what. Of course I saw you're robot- I am the operator for 1319. Wheelie mammoth is a great bot.
