Duel Teams - WE WANT YOUR SHOES to help a family in Ghana, West Africa!!!

Used Sneaker Drive – we will be collecting used sneakers that are in decent
shape (used but not abused) that can be reconditioned. (Adult sizes only).
The sneakers are reconditioned and sold in Ghana. The dollars are then
taken and used to provide families in Ghana with materials and training to
farm. Every 500 pairs of sneakers provides a family with, a bicycle, one pregnant
rabbit and hutch, 50 assorted fruit trees, three hens and one rooster, 100 Lucaena
trees, one colonized bee hive, 50 inoculated started bags of mushrooms, access
to water, a complete pedal driven Miracle Pump System, ¼ acre integrated vegetable
farm, and training for one year in intensive organic farming.

Perpetual Prosperity Pump Foundation is a Not For Profit foundation begun by
Jim Riordan, a building contractor from Lewes, DE. PPPF is a Bottom Up Approach
to Eradicating Poverty. We collect “used but not abused” athletic shoes and send
them to Ghana, West Africa where they are sold. With the proceeds we supply all
that is needed including instruction to families in outlying villages to start their own
businesses. We have a partnership with KITA (Kumasi Institute for Tropical Agriculture).

ADDITIONAL INCENTIVE
As with our Book Drive, the team donating the most pairs of sneakers will be
recognized. The goal is for the Duel to be able to sponsor a family. (500 pairs)

oh man so awesome!!!!
being a runner, i have a TON of shoes... i shall just ahve to see if i kept any of them... if i have, i shall (clean them very well and) bring them =P haha. i hope many people donate!!

We hope people donate also. It's a great program. Our goal would be to support a Ghanaian family by collecting 500 pair. I know that is a lofty goal. Whatever teams can do would be greatly appreciated!

Where can we send shoes even if not attending Duel? awesome cause btw!!!:D

Good point. You absolutely do not have to come to the Duel to donate (but it would be great if you did :cool: ).

If you can manage it, send the shoes with a team or individual, who is coming to the Duel. If that doesn't work, e-mail me and I will provide an address on where to mail them.
