2008 Chesapeake Regional

In preparation for Oct. 1, welcome to all who are considering the only regional held at a major military installation! Welcome to the United States Naval Academy and the Week 3-2008 Chesapeake Regional, on the water in historic Annapolis, Maryland :)

It's on FIRST's website now, so I suppose the cat is out of the bag.

This season, the Capitals are making the drive up to Annapolis for their regional event. Palmetto is during the students' spring break, and travel costs this year were going to be a nonzero amount any way we sliced it--so after talking it over with everybody involved, we're hitting I-95 northbound.

As someone who volunteered up there last year, I can't wait to bring the whole crew. (And no scraping off my windshield with a credit card in just a crew shirt over a T-shirt this time.)

I've put in a request (in triplicate) to the Lt. Col. for weather suited to sitting on the seawall while eating lunch and watching the sailboats go by.;)
There may be a bigger variety of island teams represented this year.

Thanks for considering the Chesapeake. You would be representing yet another island (not on my original list of inquiries) for what has been previously billed as "the jet lag regional." Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

We are in the process of costing out our trip for the VCU - DC - Annapolis regional. Our intent is to participate, pending some cost items that we still need to price out.
I PMed you.

Thanks,
Glenn

We had to withdraw to enter our hometown regional, but by the looks of things, it looks like we will be able to squeeze in on Nov.8 as there are 2 spots left.:D For me, that's 6am sharp when I try to add the event.:ahh:

2199 will be attending. We're waiting to pay until the NASA grant winners are announced though; no matter what we will be attending though. It should be good times if anything like last year. We're going to be trying out a new scouting system and showing our new members what a regional is actually like. Hopefully the power won't go out again.

Hellooooo From the North East :)

May all the participants of FIRST and the Chesapeake Regional have a happy, healthy New Year from Team 88, TJ2.

We are resting up for the release of the '08 game and looking forward to another challenge. We will be returning to the Chesapeake Regional again because of the great friendships and competition the last time that we were there. It is great to be on the Naval campus and see the historic buildings. What a great atmosphere for a super tournament. Looking forward to making many more friends and this learning experience for all. Until then, rest up because the tie dye team will be on their way. oh Yeah ??? OH YEAH !!!!

Good luck to all.

MOE and Team 88, TJ2 :D
