Mind Tricks

(only 2 of these got me, let me know how they work for you)

First One:

I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid. Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer inwaht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? yaeh and I awlyas thought slpeling was ipmorantt.

Second One:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

Now count aloud the F’s in that sentence. Count them ONLY
ONCE; do not go back and count them again. Then scroll to the bottom to see the
fun part.More...

There are six F’s in the sentence.

* One of average intelligence finds three of them.
* If you spotted four, you’re above average.
* If you got five, you can turn your nose at most
anybody.
* If you caught six, you are a genius.

There is no catch. Many people forget the OFs. The human
brain tends to see them as "V’s" instead of "F’s

Third One:

FOLLOW these instructions one at a time and as QUICKLY as you can!

What is:

* 2+2?

* 4+4?

* 8+8?

* 16+16?

Quick! Pick a number between 12 and 5.

Got it?

The number you picked was 7.

Ready for another?
Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can! Don't advance until you've done each of them. Now, ARROW down, but not too fast, you might miss something.........

What is:

* 1+5

* 2+4

* 3+3

* 4+2

* 5+1

Now repeat saying the number 6 to yourself as fast as you can for 10 seconds. Then scroll down.

QUICK!!! THINK OF A VEGETABLE! Then arrow down.

You're thinking of a carrot.

If not....
you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are warped enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer 'carrot' when given this exercise.

Ready for Another?

Now ... just follow the instructions as quickly as possible.

Do not go to the next calculation before you have finished the previous one..

You do not ever need to write or remember the answers, just do it using your mind.

You'll be surprised.

Start:

How much is:

15 + 6

3 + 56

89 + 2

12 + 53

75 + 26

25 + 52

63 + 32

I know! Calculations are hard work, but it's nearly over..

Come on, one more...

123 + 5

QUICK! THINK ABOUT A COLOR AND A TOOL!

Scroll further to the bottom...

A bit more...

You just thought about a red hammer, didn't you?

If this is not your answer, you are among 2% of people who have a different, if not abnormal, mind.

98% of the folks would answer a red hammer while doing this exercise.

.......:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:
I got 3 f's
Picked number seven
Thought of a tomato (is that a vegetable anymore?)
And I thought of a red hammer

I almost screamed when I saw you knew what I was thinking

Oh, and the word part at the beginning is really cool, I saw it before on a letter from some college, I forget which.

Where did you learn these? They are pretty amazing overall.

Re: Mind Tricks

I've seen the first one before but it's still pretty cool

I got all six F's (seen it before-my biology teacher got almost the entire class with it last year)

I thought of the number 13...yeah I know it's not between 12 and 5 but it's the first one I thought of

I thought of brocolii (seen it before)

I thought of a blue screwdriver-haven't seen it before, I guess I'm just abnormal

Re: Mind Tricks

Now why on earth did i think of a blue alan wrench and a green pepper? lol, the 7s got me though.

Tottanka 30-09-2007 05:38

Re: Mind Tricks

The '7' thincan b explained by 12-5=7 or 12+5=17, but then you think of 7.

The latter order thing, you can always find words that are very alike, in first and last letter, and in word length, so you can play with it as you wish.

i know many people who thought about a blue hammer instead of a red one.

The carrot is amazing, i have no idea why i thought of a carrot when saying to myself "six six six six six six six.."

The "^" carrot is right above the "6" on a keyboard.

But I thought of cucumber for that one, and blue screwdriver for the one after. It when until afterwards when I figured out the carrot/six connection; the red hammer answer still is beyond me.

Re: Mind Tricks

im not so sure that is the relationship between 6 and carrot, maybe its just the first vegetable everyone thinks of? :p

EDIT: carrot has 6 letters

SECOND EDIT: so does tomato O.O!!!!

potato is too OMFG VEGETABLES ARE 6 LETTARZ.

I think that's why, and same with the red hammer-a hammer is the first tool most people think of just because it's the one they're most familiar with, which would explain why FIRSTers may think of something different, as we typically work with just about any tool you can think of. As for the red, lots of people like the color red and it's a nice easy color to think of. Then again so is blue, which is why lots of people said blue.

Re: Mind Tricks

Seen the first one

3 F's, didn't see the oF's. *sigh*

9, always try to pick one of the numbers in my team number, so 9, 7, or 3.

Eggplant, don't even know why that one poped up.

Green Drill. I never think as hammer as the first tool. Or red as a first color.

Guess I can forgive myself for the F's one with the others. I've got to show this one to my team, they'd get a kick out of this.

Re: Mind Tricks

Got 3 Fs. And I cheated and looked back and still couldn't see them until they were pointed out.

Got the 7 too.

Cucumber.

Red Cresent Wrench (Uberbots still in my head)
