Just my 2 cents

I remember when 229 did this. Every year there was a different shirt color and because we weren't that accomplished I think people didn't really knew who we were. The team then decided to go with the Clarkson "Green n Gold" since they were the sponsor and we had two High Schools. That same year was stack attack where we made these huuuuge 4 tall foam wings: across the front Clarkson University like a giant robotic billboard. I'm sure after that ... people pretty much remembered who we were.

:D

Getting more support from the school is something this team is trying to obtain, a little bit more than recognition at FIRST events. If it takes time to rereconize them I don't think it would be a huge deal.

As mentioned before this team has a habbit of sitting together at pep rally's completely in black (50+ students). The only problem is everyone else (2,500+) is wearing red.

With that in mind do you think Team 578 would recieve more support from the school and will be be more accepted by thier peers if they were to change thier primary color to red?

FYI FHS financially supports the team on a greater scale than Gleason.

Thanks for these comments everyone :)

Perhaps you might be able to find something like

...This...

that way you can combine your "blue lightning" with your school's red. The blue would still help you stand out during pep-rallys... but you would still be wearing red too.

Now there's a look that will stand out from the crowd.

Thanks to team 67, 68, 350, and a bunch of other teams that gaves our drivers fora run for our money.

Speaking of which, our entire team did great. Our scoutsdid excelent, our pit crew did extrodinary, and our NEMO'S (Non Engineering Mentoring Organization) did supurb with raising team siprit and moral when things felt bad.

Team 20 will be goingto a regional in boston, but most of the team will not be there:(

Great job teams. No hard fellings, only robots.

FLR this year was definitely one of the best regionals I've seen. We had a great field of teams and exciting matches.

Congrats to 340 for a well deserved Chairman's Award. Also thanks for your help with our IR interference problem.

Thanks to 1507 for picking us and 145 for completing our alliance. We certainly made a good run.

Congrats to the winning alliance of 20, 191, 2053 and 174. When your alliance was formed I knew our path to the finals would be a difficult one. Thanks for some good semifinal matches and incredibly exciting finals matches.

Thanks to 65, 67 and 68 for coming to this event from MI. Having teams of your class and experience in attendance makes any event better. Thanks to 67 for orchestrating the HOF photoshoot (67, 191 & 365), that was a very fun photo op.

To teams 84, 272, 316 and 1511: See you in Philly!

FLR was an excellent event, and all of us on 1743 enjoyed ourselves (even though the snowy ride home pushed us to the brink of delirium). I want to be sure to thank team 365, as well as mentor Jeff from 191, for their help. They saw that we were having issues with our ball knocker on the field, and approached us after a match with a solution. With their ideas, assistance, and parts, we were able to put together something that worked flawlessly in our final qualifying match. Every time we knock down a ball in Pittsburgh, it will be a direct result of their selfless efforts. Thank you for showing time and time again why you belong in the hall of fame.

Re: 2008 Finger Lakes Regional

Looking back at the field of FLR after 5 weeks of regionals, there really were a lot of great bots.

These teams went on to win at another regional:
20 (Boston)
67 (GLR)
84 (Philly)
365 (Philly)
1126 (Buckeye)

Note: That includes one team from every semis alliance.

These teams ended up as finalists at another regional:
68 (Waterloo)
272 (Philly)
1503 (GTR)
1507 (GTR)

Also I think special recognition should be given to 191 and 2228 for the record high scoring fight they put up in the semis at Buckeye against the winning alliance. Most importantly FLR was a great event and a lot of fun.
