50 penalty pts in the first match!!! Wow. |
Re: Midwest Regional
Man, -40 for penalties, that kinda sucks. Wonder what they were for.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
So is it just me or are you guys yelling "ZOOM OUT!" at your computer.
I wish that the cameramen would just give us a field view most of the time. |

Re: Midwest Regional
Wow, that last match with 1625 was stunning. Two teams had really good launchers. Finals at this regional should be amazing to watch.
Next up, the 2008 debut of 1114. |
Re: Midwest Regional
wow 1625 is really good, 71 looks good but not as good as 1625 or 1114. alot like 118 without the turret, their pickup is a bit shakey compared to the roller claws like 1625, 16, 1114.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
I am completely impressed by 1625 in the last match that I just saw. This is not really an objective or an informed opinion, but an opinion nonetheless. There was significantly less field traffic interference than I expected. Were there still 6 robots out on the field?
|
Re: Midwest Regional
ahh...nice 1114 is up, should be a good match.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
So did anyone figure out how to save the stream using VLC. I don't want to miss seeing us kick some butt but I have exams to study for...
Go 1625! :) |
Re: Midwest Regional
Nice and efficient match from 1114. In the face of some large traffic, they kept their cool and followed some decent strategy. The bonus for having the trackballs on top at the end was just that little bit of insurance, but shows the kind of thinking on the field that they are known for. 1024 looked like they were all business out there too on a losing cause.
Good match altogether! |
Re: Midwest Regional
How to save stream using VLC
File open, network, http/https/ftp/mms, paste link in that field, select stream save, settings, select play locally and file, enter path and name of file, under transcoding select video-h264 and audio-mp3 :D than click ok, ok That should work. |
Re: Midwest Regional
wow Stang is alot tipper then I thought...
|

1625 was on FIRE in their first match. That was one very impressive showing by them. I'd be shocked if they aren't in the finals tomorrow. |

Re: Midwest Regional
Nice match #9.
I still am going to put my money on Beatty. Did you see them at the end of the match? I think they were going to try and launch over the divider and the overpass... 1625 was pretty impressive as well again. 1024 looks pretty solid as well. |
Re: Midwest Regional
1024 just pulled off one killer hybrid mode. 5 lines in 15 seconds WOW!
|
Re: Midwest Regional
"15 seconds of preprogrammed goodness..."
Haha, what a line. |
Re: Midwest Regional
I really like the new scoreboard a lot. It has a lot of useful information in a small space.
Team numbers are kind of blurred, but readable. Shows the score, number of laps done by each team, and number of hurdles per ball, as well as time remaining. Much better than the first graphic they had last year! |
Re: Midwest Regional
I'm seeing a lot of "going backward" penalties.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
what's the direct link for the webcast?
every time i run it mozzila tried to download the php file instead of running it... |

Re: Midwest Regional
Hmm, this much I agree with you based on their own personal standards and knowledge about just how fast and how efficient that robot can be. I'll chalk it up to first match first regional gremlins for now, but knowing that team, that would just be an excuse and they'll be pushing themselves all the more.

Re: Midwest Regional
yea even their second match wasn't a great one for them, hurdling a red ball?? unless they were trying to score for their oponents (that early in the match i doubt it) it was a very uncharacteristic mental mistake for them... and it looks like it cost them some pentalty points.

|
Re: Midwest Regional
I want my video feed back! |
Re: Midwest Regional
Webcast is back for me.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
Its back...to see both 111 and 1625 break....
|
Re: Midwest Regional
What a bloody match. Stang lost their roller, Winnovation got mangled, and it looked like there was another 1 or 2 disabled.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
Has anyone else noticed the lap counters seem to work extremely well so far?
I'm pretty shocked. Given the track record with first week regionals and automated counting systems, I thought there was no way it'd work at first. |
Re: Midwest Regional
What did I miss? What happened? who won the match?
I wonder how much studying is going to happen for my midterms... |

Re: Midwest Regional
Blue (1625, 448, 9) won. 1625 broke I believe.

100!
|
Re: Midwest Regional
100 points by 1114 and partners!!!
|
Re: Midwest Regional
1114 is unstoppable. 100 points, with FIVE hurdles by them. 4 lines and a ball removal in hybrid mode.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
Quote:
That was what I expected out of 1114 right there. They just put on a hurdling clinic in that match. 1327 is a really good lap runner, too. |
Re: Midwest Regional
5 hurdles for 1114 in a 100 pt. performance for blue (pending any penalties/adjustments)
|

Re: Midwest Regional
That was a very nice match on 1114's part. I counted 5 very efficient hurdles, but I might've missed a couple.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
Wow....1114 just completed a full lap in hybrid, followed by 5 hurdles. Between them and their outstanding lap-bot partners, they just won 100-6.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
holy crap.. someone try and slow them down!!!
That was nuts.. |
Re: Midwest Regional

EDIT: I could have sworn I read 6 hurdles....... |
Re: Midwest Regional
I'm getting a General Error on real, somethin about my web browser not being the default (which it is) has anyone seen this problem today and or fixed it? Thanks.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
1038 did a great job there to beat 33, they really got their arm controll down that match.

What a finish before lunch. The blue ball getting removed will just a few seconds left, and 503 placing the red with about 2 seconds remaining. |
Re: Midwest Regional
Yay for currently holding 1st place!!
From what I hear our robot has had problems all 3 matches. We broke at the end of the first match, forgot to flip a switch to turn on the shooter in the 2nd, and broke in the third. Hopefully we will not break anymore so we can stay undefeated. I am upset because I was supposed to get there at 2pm but my train is running 2 hours late. :( |

|
Re: Midwest Regional
I do believe 1114 just matched their High Score...Wow
Edit:no they beat it! 104 pts. |

Re: Midwest Regional
Tomorrow morning, match 56, 1114 and 1625 will be on the SAME alliance. I'm sure 104 points will fall then.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
Anyone disagree with the bees last point count?
|
Re: Midwest Regional
the hurdle or the place? the place was good. The last hurdle though, the ball touched them before the ground or any other robot. I do think, by the rules, it shouldn't have counted but I'm not a referee and it's not my call.
|

Re: Midwest Regional
1024?!?! 5 lines in hybrid after crashing into a bot  thats awesome
|
Re: Midwest Regional
Pardon me if this an obvious question, but what is seeming to be the rule violation causing all of these penalties?
|
Re: Midwest Regional
the one I keep hearing is going backwards over the line. every once and a while they have a interference penalty.
|
Re: Midwest Regional
I think there should be a lot more interference penalties called, and i saw some crossing into a previous zone penalties as well that went uncalled.
I've seen probably 300-400 penalty points and I've been watching Midwest all day, and NJ a little bit. |
Re: Midwest Regional
Baxter Bomb Squad and Wildstang just put on a show.
