I have so many codecs now, I have no idea where each comes from anymore, but it might be Real Alternative? MPC is different than WMP just to make sure there are no confunsions.

50 penalty pts in the first match!!! Wow.

Wow, that last match with 1625 was stunning. Two teams had really good launchers. Finals at this regional should be amazing to watch.

Next up, the 2008 debut of 1114.

Jonathan Norris 29-02-2008 10:58

Re: Midwest Regional

wow 1625 is really good, 71 looks good but not as good as 1625 or 1114. alot like 118 without the turret, their pickup is a bit shakey compared to the roller claws like 1625, 16, 1114.

J Flex 188 29-02-2008 11:00

Re: Midwest Regional

I am completely impressed by 1625 in the last match that I just saw. This is not really an objective or an informed opinion, but an opinion nonetheless. There was significantly less field traffic interference than I expected. Were there still 6 robots out on the field?

J Flex 188 29-02-2008 11:10

Re: Midwest Regional

Nice and efficient match from 1114. In the face of some large traffic, they kept their cool and followed some decent strategy. The bonus for having the trackballs on top at the end was just that little bit of insurance, but shows the kind of thinking on the field that they are known for. 1024 looked like they were all business out there too on a losing cause.

Good match altogether!

Scott L. 29-02-2008 11:17

Re: Midwest Regional

How to save stream using VLC
File open, network, http/https/ftp/mms, paste link in that field, select stream save, settings, select play locally and file, enter path and name of file, under transcoding select video-h264 and audio-mp3 :D than click ok, ok

That should work.

I think 1114 is the best bot I've seen so far, but I thought that was a pretty poor showing considering how much better I know they can do.

1625 was on FIRE in their first match. That was one very impressive showing by them. I'd be shocked if they aren't in the finals tomorrow.

Nice match #9.

I still am going to put my money on Beatty. Did you see them at the end of the match? I think they were going to try and launch over the divider and the overpass...

1024 looks pretty solid as well.

I really like the new scoreboard a lot. It has a lot of useful information in a small space.

Team numbers are kind of blurred, but readable.

Shows the score, number of laps done by each team, and number of hurdles per ball, as well as time remaining.

Much better than the first graphic they had last year!

Hmm, this much I agree with you based on their own personal standards and knowledge about just how fast and how efficient that robot can be. I'll chalk it up to first match first regional gremlins for now, but knowing that team, that would just be an excuse and they'll be pushing themselves all the more.

1114 just had a pretty solid match. At least they did if they were trying to grab a penalty and hurdle for the opponent as their first action (looked pretty intentional).

yea even their second match wasn't a great one for them, hurdling a red ball?? unless they were trying to score for their oponents (that early in the match i doubt it) it was a very uncharacteristic mental mistake for them... and it looks like it cost them some pentalty points.

Good point. I didn't even think about that.

That was what I expected out of 1114 right there. They just put on a hurdling clinic in that match.

1327 is a really good lap runner, too.

Use real alternative: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...lternative.htm

You'll be able to watch with windows media player instead of needing realplayer.

I know one of them at least picked it up, not sure if they actually hurdled. The numbers on the scoreboard are kinda hard to read over the webcast.

What a finish before lunch. The blue ball getting removed will just a few seconds left, and 503 placing the red with about 2 seconds remaining.

Yay for currently holding 1st place!!

From what I hear our robot has had problems all 3 matches. We broke at the end of the first match, forgot to flip a switch to turn on the shooter in the 2nd, and broke in the third. Hopefully we will not break anymore so we can stay undefeated.

I am upset because I was supposed to get there at 2pm but my train is running 2 hours late. :(

I was talking about the hurdles. They had 4, if the last one didnt count ( i dont know) it would still be ~24 +12, not 18+12
