Sunday
Detroit at Washington
Redskins are up and down. Detroit has momentum.
Cleveland at New England
No explanation needed.
Seattle at Pittsburgh
Tough pick of the week.
Arizona at St. Louis
Cardinals won against Steelers with no Boldin? Can't wait to see what they do against the Rams.
Jacksonville at Kansas City
Obviously, one of these teams is going to step up. Question is: Which one? My money's on the Chiefs.
Carolina at New Orleans
One more chance for the Saints to turn it around.
New York Jets at New York Giants
I was wrong last week picking against them.
Miami at Houston
Dolphins are in for a long season.
Atlanta at Tennessee

Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
Might change pending injury report...
Baltimore at San Francisco
Alex Smith and Vernon Davis are injured.
San Diego at Denver
Vote of no confidence for Norv Turner's Chargers.
Chicago at Green Bay
Maybe it's the O-line... not the QB. Packers stay perfect at home.

Dallas at Buffalo

Re: 2007 NFL pick-em: Week 5

Sunday
Detroit at Washington
Theres something about Detroit this year.
Cleveland at New England
The Pats are the only team in modern day NFL history to win its first 4 games by 20+ points - i think they can do 5
Seattle at Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is 20-6 at home over the past four seasons. Super bowl XL rematch with the same result.
Arizona at St. Louis
Arizona's two QB game plan works - well Kurt Warner works.
Jacksonville at Kansas City
Jacksonville is the third best team in the AFC south, but still way better than any team in the weak AFC west.
Carolina at New Orleans
New Orleans is playing too bad to win this game, or any game for that matter.
New York Jets at New York Giants
So I wonder how much of a home field advantage this is?
Miami at Houston
Miami stinks and Houston is on the rise.
Atlanta at Tennessee
Tennessee is an interesting team. Vince Young can be explosive and they run the ball well.
Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
Indianapolis is on a roll at the start of the season - what else is new. . . This will be close
Baltimore at San Francisco
I wasn't sure where to go here . . . Baltimore's defense is not the same and the offense can't produce. 49'rs are hurt though so I'll go with Baltimore.
San Diego at Denver
San Diego had a great year last year - why can't they play the same this year. I think they get back on track here.
Chicago at Green Bay
What happened to Chicago - 2 QB's down, 1 to go .
Monday
Dallas at Buffalo
Dallas can score, Buffalo can't stop them.

Travis Hoffman 02-10-2007 15:33

Re: 2007 NFL pick-em: Week 5

Sunday
Detroit at Washington
Cleveland at New England (What the freakin' heck??? :) Did you know, the last Browns playoff win was against New England - and Bill Belichick was the Browns' coach? 1994 - weird but totally irrelevant.)
Seattle at Pittsburgh (Rocky Bernard repeat on Big Ben? Ste(a)lers banged up - may change pick depending upon team health)
Arizona at St. Louis
Jacksonville at Kansas City (Jags don't get any love until MJD wakes up)
Carolina at New Orleans (Can't stink forever.)
New York Jets at New York Giants (Chad Pennington should fear for his life.)
Miami at Houston
Atlanta at Tennessee
Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
Baltimore at San Francisco
San Diego at Denver
Chicago at Green Bay (Nick Barnett with 10+ tackles and an INT for 6)

Monday
Dallas at Buffalo (How did Buffalo get a Monday Night game?)

Sunday
Detroit at Washington-Why not i am starting to believe anyway
Cleveland at New England-They are the best in football, only Indy can beat them
Seattle at Pittsburgh-I think they will bounce back this week
Arizona at St. Louis-After last weeks big win they should be riding high
Jacksonville at Kansas City-The Jags should take care of business
Carolina at New Orleans-Nothing about New Orleans exudes confidence
New York Jets at New York Giants-The Giants have looked good the past two weeks, the jets not so much
Miami at Houston-I am a Houston fan
Atlanta at Tennessee-Vince Young will be tough to deal with
Tampa Bay at Indianapolis- I will stick with them
Baltimore at San Francisco-I can't pick the Ravens, they have really let me down this year
San Diego at Denver-Well, I feel good about San Diego
Chicago at Green Bay-Green Bay is a horrible match-up for Chicago

Monday
Dallas at Buffalo-The Cowboys are a tough team to beat without being able to throw against

Re: 2007 NFL pick-em: Week 5

Sunday
Detroit at Washington
Both teams have pleasantly surprised with good play. It's a tough game to pick so go with the usual and take the home team.
Cleveland at New England
The Browns have been playing better this season but New England has been annihilating anyone who gets on the field with them.
Seattle at Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is gonna be one really angry team.
Arizona at St. Louis
Arizona and St. Louis are going in opposite directions.
Jacksonville at Kansas City
Jacksonville should win this game outright but they are one of the screwiest teams around. I'll take the risk.
Carolina at New Orleans
The Panthers are a better team on the road than at home.
New York Jets at New York Giants
Niether team is all that great and there is no real home team advantage here so I'll just go on a hunch.
Miami at Houston
Houston has slipped a bit since their hot start but they are a better team than Miami and are home. Beating teams you should beat at home is the first step to becoming a serious contender. It's time for the Texans to take those steps.
Atlanta at Tennessee
The Titans won't need any late game Vinsanity to pull this one out.
Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
The Bucs are looking a little better but the Colts look pretty much the same. Awesome!
Baltimore at San Francisco
The Ravens look like they have taken a big step backwards.
San Diego at Denver
Norv Turner has ruined another good team.
Chicago at Green Bay
The Pack is back and the Bears are whack!

Monday
Dallas at Buffalo
With all of those bad injuries on the Bills defense there is no way they can compete with Dallas.

Re: 2007 NFL pick-em: Week 5

Sunday
Detroit at Washington
Detriot's got a decent team this year
Cleveland at New England
Borwns=still no back to back wins since 2003
Seattle at Pittsburgh
Seattle's good, Pitt's better
Arizona at St. Louis
Arizona will crush St. Lous
Jacksonville at Kansas City
Jacksonville steals one on the road
Carolina at New Orleans
Maybe N.O. will start winning?
New York Jets at New York Giants
Jets won't lose to another New York team after last week
Miami at Houston
Miami is bett...just kidding
Atlanta at Tennessee
Atlanta got lucky last week
Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
Indy is just too good
Baltimore at San Francisco
Rebound after lose to Arizona
San Diego at Denver
Maybe if I keep picking them, San Diego will win one
Chicago at Green Bay
Can you say 5-0? :D

Monday
Dallas at Buffalo
Dallas all the way

George A. 04-10-2007 23:49

Re: 2007 NFL pick-em: Week 5

Sunday
Detroit at Washington
Jon Kitna Predicted 10 wins....he'll need this one to make us believe.

Cleveland at New England
Yes the Browns beat Cincinnati, but so did New England, so I'm going with New England

Seattle at Pittsburgh
It's kind of a toss up, the Steelers look better than they are, but they'll pull this out.

Arizona at St. Louis
Let's see...No Bulger, and a doubtful Jackson...I'll take 'Zona

Jacksonville at Kansas City
KC pulled one out against SD, and Jax aren't running the ball...so KC for the win.

Carolina at New Orleans
N'Orleans looked bad before the bye, and afterwards they should just look rusty, but Delhomme is out...so it's really a toss up. I'm taking Steve Smith.

New York Jets at New York Giants
Well if King Kong taught me anything, Jets don't stand up against big gorillas on the Empire State Building, and I think Giants are bigger than King Kong...so therefore the Giants will win this one.

Miami at Houston
Houston looks for a bounceback back after Atlanta, and Johnson might be back. Either way Miami is looking awful.

Atlanta at Tennessee
Honestly, it's hard to pick Atlanta, no matter who they're playing....unless it's Notre Dame....even then it's a toss up.

Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
Yeah 88 might be out...but they still have everyone else...Indy should win, although I'm thinking it might be closer than people think.

Baltimore at San Francisco
Alex Smith is out, and even with QB by committee Baltimore's D should pull them through.

San Diego at Denver
Denver has 2 wins. 1 against Oakland, and 1 against Buffalo...both were on last second FG's...I don't think they can keep winning games like that. I pick San Diego.

Chicago at Green Bay
If Detroit can beat Chicago with their murky defense, Green Bay should beat them handily. That and GB has this really great quarterback that no one's heard of...Brett Favre or something like that

Monday
Dallas at Buffalo
So far Dallas looks like one of the two teams from the NFC that could possibly stand up against one of the AFC "elite" teams....however, Buffalo isn't one of those elite teams...Dallas wins.

Tampa Bay at Indianapolis
No Bob Sanders
Joseph Addai and Marvin Harrison are Game-time decisions.
Colts D gave up running yards galore when Sanders wasn't playing.
Even though the Bucs lost Cadillac, they still have capable RBs: Pittman and Graham.
So I'm going to change my pick and predict that the Colts will be the only undefeated team to fall this week.

haha... if you think indy is good because of there rush game you have it right. But they are great because of there passing game. As long as Manning stays healthy, these guys will keep rolling over teams.

just my 2cents :)

I agree that they are a great passing team. I agree that Manning is great. Hell, I'll still root for Indy this weekend.
But losing a running back like Addai makes the offense easier to defend (even though Peyton always finds holes...).
Also, without a running game, closing out the game or running down the clock could be difficult.
Not to mention, they're going to lose a game eventually. :p

the worst part was, the buffalo fans came into the game knowing they would leave with a loss. then they had high hopes since the first few plays, then it all came crashing down in the last second.

twas a good game i would say.

I don't see why that's a stupid rule. You should expect that to happen in that situation.

As a fan of a team that has been affected by this rule, I must protest this assessment. So let's say the kicking team expects this to happen. If the defensive team has a timeout at the end of the game, why WOULDN'T they call it to stop the kick, knowing this rule is in place?

What is the kicking team supposed to do in this situation, knowing it's coming? Not snap the ball and take a delay of game penalty, with the risk of the penalty putting them outside of field goal range? They almost have to kick the ball no matter what.

If the defensive team has a timeout, it's almost a guarantee now that a kicker will have to kick a field goal TWICE to win the game late. That, my friends, is the definition of stupid.

I presume a coach is not permitted to call a timeout based upon future events of unknown start times, i.e. saying "I want to call timeout immediately before the snapper snaps the ball, whenever that is." That is total garbage. Presuming that garbage is not allowed, there's going to be a time when the coach is late in calling the timeout or he calls it EXACTLY when the ball is snapped. There will be a heated debate and DEMANDS for reviews to determine when the timeout was called relative to the snap. All the stupid delays and other mess circulating around this incident will FORCE the NFL to modify this, yes, STUPID RULE once and for all. I say bring it on.

The NFL needs an offseason summer invitational competition in Indianapolis at which all their stupid rules can be exposed and subsequently fixed. :D

Did the percentage include me picking only 1 team for the first "NFL Pick-em" draft?
