YEEEEEEEEAAAAA! Wisconsin represent WOOH WOOHH WOOHHH

2077 and our newly formed all girls team 1988 will be there to take some sort of title (I'm quite hopeful/optimistic that we will have the pleasure of scrambling to get enough money together to go to Atlanta this year)

if your wondering who we are... think most obnoxiously loud rookie team last year that was scrambling to make weight and finish our robot in the pits last year (More hated us for getting dangerously close to their sweet touch screen pit thingy)

So who at Wisconsin has a launcher of some sort this year? Robot Casserole has a dual CIM launcher.

Re: 2008 Wisconsin Regional

Winnovation has a launcher!!

And I am guessing plenty of others will, considering there are going to be 61 teams there.

This email is going out to all team contacts shortly, it doesn't hurt to have it up here as well for people to see.

Greetings Teams!

The Wisconsin Regional is fast approaching and the Regional Planning Committee looks forward to welcoming you to Milwaukee!

In this email you will find some important and helpful information about the US Cellular Arena and the event itself.

If you have any questions before coming to Milwaukee, feel free to email Ricky Quinones (ricky.quinones AT gmail.com) or Kevin Kolodziej (kevin.kolodziej AT gmail.com)

The first three items are action items that we need responses back from teams on:

1) VIP Guides: If you have not submitted one or two names of a student(s) that would be able to assist as VIP Tour Guides on Friday of the event from 10a-12p, we also need a fewer number of students to give tours for VIPs after lunch on Friday, from approx. 1-2p. If you have team members that can assist at either of these times please email their names and indicate their availability ASAP to ricky.quinones AT gmail.com These students are needed to show our VIPs around and show then what FIRST is all about, there will be a brief walkthrough with them on Thursday morning at the event as well to explain their role.

2) Team Social: If your team has not reserved spots at the Team Social and is planning on attending, please email a firm number of students and mentors that will be coming to info AT wisconsinregional.org by February 29th. We need a firm number to make accurate dinner counts and teams that do not respond by 2/29 will not be able to dine at the social. A detailed information sheet on the social will be provided in your team registration packet when you register Thursday morning at Pit Administration.

3) Call for Volunteers – If your team has extra parents, mentors or students that are interested in volunteering at the event please have them sign up ASAP in the FIRST Volunteer Information and Matching System at https://my.usfirst.org/vims and they will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator.

The rest of this email is general reminders and hints that we think will help teams out in preparing for the event:

1) Unloading Procedures: Please take note of the FIRST rules regarding early unloading and uncrating on Thursday morning at the event at 7:45 A.M.: For teams’ convenience and to help ensure safety in the Pit, three (3) persons from each team will be allowed to uncrate early. At least one of the three must be an adult of post high school status . If any of the three-team members leave the Pit area during that time, he/she will not be readmitted until general Pit opening. Teams cannot work on the robot or set up the team’s station during that time. Teams that do not have a post high school mentor with them will not be allowed into the arena until general pit opening at 8:30 A.M. Use the main entrance on Kilbourn Avenue. These doors will not open until 7:45 A.M. for early uncrating, so please plan accordingly.

2) Parking: The Arena operates a surface lot directly across from the main entrance of the facility; rates are approx. $10 per day. Check out www.parkmilwaukee.com for more information on other lots around the US Cellular Arena. For teams arriving on buses and staying with the Hyatt for the event, please notify them that you are using a bus and they will assist you with free bus parking.

3) General Reminders:
a. If the Wisconsin Regional is your first event this season, please do not forget your team’s consent and release forms and team roster, found here: www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=8128
Teams cannot register without a completed Consent/Release form for each team member and mentor attending the event(s) and a completed Team Roster. This includes adults traveling with the team. The forms for persons under 18 years of age must also have a parent or legal guardian’s name and signature.

b. Outside food is not allowed on US Cellular Arena property, this includes in the arena and in the parking lot across from the arena. This is detailed in the contract between FIRST and the Arena and will be enforced. A list of local dining establishments is on the regional website, http://www.wisconsinregional.org/dining.htm and a map of these places will be provided in your registration packet.

c. Saving seats is not allowed in the arena. Handicapped seating will be available; please find a volunteer to assist you if this is necessary for someone on your team.

d. There will be a small scale Overdrive field available for teams to use FTC, VEX or other small system robots on if so desired. This field will be next to Scholarship Row and give the general public a chance to see the other programs and impacts of FIRST. This field will use tennis balls as trackballs, the top of the overpass is 10" high, and the bottom clearance of the overpass is 8" high. An FTC game field may also be present.

e. The Regional Planning Committee is planning on webcasting the event, check out www.wisconsinregional.org closer to the dates for details on how and where to watch it.

Thank you for attending to these items for us, it helps us our tremendously in making the regional a great experience for everyone.

Once again, do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything prior to coming or in Milwaukee.

See you soon!

Sorry to spot you out Ricky but I've just got to do it...

Am I the only cheesehead who can't believe that tailgating isn't allowed at the WISCONSIN (Land of brats, cheese curds and the frozen tundra of Lambeau) Regional?! I can guarantee you that if Green Bay hosted the event, it would be brats and cheese for EVERYONE!! :)

See you in a couple weeks!

Sean

Why do people in Green Bay go to Lambeau Field when there is a Tornado Warning?

Because there are no touchdowns there!

Who was it that was in the superbowl last year? Oh, right, Da Bears.... say all you want about how that went, but at least we've been there this millennium unlike a certain other team (Packers)...

And also, ... :D

We actually have a quarterback that can play. The only thing I will admit is that Devin Hester is better than the packers returner.

And also, ... :D
