When I asked her how old she was, she smiled and said cryptically: "The day before yesterday I was 22, but next year I'll be 25." What is her birthday and when was the date of our conversation? |
Re: Riddle Game!

A man told his son that he would give him $1000 if he could accomplish the following task. The father gave his son ten envelopes and a thousand dollars, all in one dollar bills. He told his son, "Place the money in the envelopes in such a manner that no matter what number of dollars I ask for, you can give me one or more of the envelopes, containing the exact amount I asked for without having to open any of the envelopes. If you can do this, you will keep the $1000." When the father asked for a sum of money, the son was able to give him envelopes containing the exact amount of money asked for. How did the son distribute the money among the ten envelopes? |
Re: Riddle Game!
She was born on the 31st of December. The conversation was on the first of January.
On the 30th of December (the day before Yesterday), she was 22. Yesterday, she was 23. This year, she turns 24. Next year, she turns 25. After two brothers cleaned their shed, one had a clean face, and one had a dirty face. Why, then, did the clean-faced brother wash his face while the dirty-faced brother did not? |
Re: Riddle Game!
The contents of the ten envelopes (in dollar bills) should be as follows: $1, 2,4, 8, 16, 32,64, 128,256, 489. The first nine numbers are in geometrical progression, and their sum, deducted from 1,000, gives the contents of the tenth envelope.

You are walking along a path and find a fork in it one way leads to an endless pit the other leads to a perfect civilization. There are two brothers standing at the fork (one standing in front of each path). One of them always lies and the other always tells the truth. You can only ask them one question to find out which path leads to the civilization. What question do you ask? |

Re: Riddle Game!
(Heres a stupid one, and not really a riddle. But its been a while for the thread)
If you were in Michigan, and bought a $5.99 CD, and payed for it with $6.00, what would you get back? |
Re: Riddle Game!
You'd get a confused look from the cashier for not paying your sales tax.
In the previous one, not only would you ask which path the brother would say, but you take the opposite to safety. A securely blindfolded man takes off his hat and places it on a barrel. He then turns around, walks 100 paces, turns around again and shoots a hole clean through his hat. Nobody has given him direction, nobody has removed his hat, he's got no aiming aids, and he never took off the blindfold. How did he do it? |
Re: Riddle Game!
His blindfod is secure but he he can see through it, or he has on two hats and he shot the second hat off of his own head.
Sorry, I don't have really have a good riddle. |
