How mechanically inclined are you?
I ran across a good quiz that sees how mechanically and electrically inclined you are.
Definitely look carefully at the drawings, I got a 72 the first time. I'm going to go back and retake it. Don't use the "back" button, it will mess the quiz up! Make sure you're set on your answer before going forward. And now, for the link you have been waiting for, http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/quizze...alAptitude.php Enjoy! :) |
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
LOL, I got a 74! (Maybe I should be an EM, not a NEM!!!) Actually, it's been a very long time since any of those principles were taught to me, but I guess I guessed well on the answers. Not well enough to pass, though.

Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
Neat, except the writers of the quiz seem to think force can be measured in kilograms, which is incorrect. Also. in question 31 the correct answer is not listed in the choices. I got an 88%.

Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I got an 84. I too disliked the problems with kg instead of Newtons or pounds. Was question 31 that one with something like box A weighs 300kg and it was on a lever with box B? If so, I agree, no correct answer. Plus, the quiz's statement that it doesn't measure what you know is dead wrong; for example, the "which of the following ignites easiest" question is purely knowledge. Overall a pretty cool quiz, but rather flawed, and I definitely wouldn't use it to choose 'mechanically apt' people for anything.

Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I got an 82 :]
Cool test, but agreed, a few kind of bad questions |
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I got 88.
Its a cool idea for a test, but badly implemented. Maybe someone reading this can do better. ;) ;) |
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I got a 90 on it. Most of the questions were pretty straight forward, but the question about opposite of increasing speed, deceleration isn't the correct answer because it doesn't exist!! It's negative acceleration, someone just made up that term.

I feel much better about myself now, I got a 98. really.
There are a few questions that are technically incorrect, but in all the questions the right answer is clear enough, except for one (I am certain it's the one I got wrong): In a naturally aspirated engine, why does the air enter the cylinder? Spoiler for choices:
Don't peek at the spoiler until after you've taken the test.! Don |
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I got test anxiety :ahh:
|
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I got a 78, though I believe I mis-clicked a few things.
(That, and the last time I remember even thinking about a pulley was in 2004.) |
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
I failed... 74%.
|
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
74% I did better than I thought I would. Kinda... some of those concepts I never went over but still think I did pretty good.
Never learned water pressure, or PSI, or some other random ones. The gear ones were real simple. |
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
74% yay for common sense :(
|
Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
76%.. I also didn't do anything with PSI and what not and I was exactly calculating the pulley problems like we are suppose to in physics lol (not that I'm in physics) oh well some questions were a bit weird... but I don't think I'm that mechanically inclined anyways I just learn from mistakes lol :p

Re: How mechanically inclined are you?
Nice test....
Scored a 96% but then again I am a Protronie  |
