I get mine at the dollar store. Lots of electronic toys or blinkylights contain them. Recently, I bought a couple of clip-on LED lamps which each included three such batteries. I only used one of the lamps; the batteries from the other have gone into other devices.

If we sell these we are also considering selling replacement batteries since they seem hard to find locally. My HEXBUG had an L1142 battery which cross references to 386, SR43, G12, and R43W among others.

I finally found some in the jewelry dept at WalMart and paid $3.77 each, hopefully we can find them cheaper somewhere else.

I'm not sure where you can buy individual batteries for a cheaper price, but I believe that this video may provide some useful (and valuable) information. I haven't tried this myself, so I'm not sure if this is 100% safe. But if it does work, I hope it helps.

Those are a really cute and cool idea. I saw some at Radioshack and wanted one sooo bad. I might suggest these to my middle school's VEX team (no, not FVC, just a Fusion run division). This is way better than overpriced candles and shirts! :D

Does anybody know if they will ship these internationally (for New Zealand teams considering using them as a fundraiser =] )?

I believe you can get them in New Zealand. However, you would probably have to pay for shipping, which may or may not be a lot. :rolleyes:

So, on the website, it says in "your retail store" does this mean that FIRST teams are allowed use these to fundraise?

Yes, many robotics teams continue to use HEXBUGS for fundraising with GREAT success. I know 148 is selling them like crazy here in the community.

It is never too late to start selling them. They make awesome stocking stuffers.
