Sheesh... when I looked at the little thumbnail shot on the portal page it looked like you had hooked a CIM up to the VEX drivetrain.

Which, actually, would have been kind of cool. But this is cool, too, and makes a heck of a lot more sense.

Good luck with it at the competition,

Jason

:yikes: I did too!

Very cool robot idea... I see how you plan to track fire but how do you fight it? Are you planning on having it blow out candles with the air tank?

Cool. :]

Hey you could send it after the flame throwing robots to put out the fires they start! :D

It's going to get a little bulky after you add two gauges, a regulator, and a pressure switch. ;)

Not to mention whatever air device (valve and nozzle?) your functional requirements call for.

I will be adding a custom nozzle that will have 6 small air jets. I will be using the small tube from last year (1/8th I believe) to keep it small but powerful. I will be running straight 125 lb pressure so no regulator needed. The nozzle will be attached to the camera for aiming. I will also be adding line tracking sensors to the bottom to identify going in rooms and home base. There will be the ultrasonic sensors on the side and maybe some touch sensors on front/back (TBD).

It may not be ready to go for the fall competition as my programming help is a bit tied up with his thesis and I think that is much more important. There is a spring competition that we will definitely make.

Driven by a CIM eh........... thinking - maybe for a sumo competition
