Re: 2007 NFL Pick-em: Week 10
Counting down the hours now to the most important Steelers - Browns game in years. History dictates that Travis will be crying in the corner, but this is a new Brownies team. I have a feeling the Steelers and the Browns just may meet yet again in the playoffs this year and I can't believe I'm saying that. For now we play for the AFC north lead and I wait to see Travis cry in that corner. GO STEELERS!

Indianapolis at San Diego Monday: San Francisco at Seattle My poor Niners... I made a bet with my dad at the beginning of the year that they'd win the NFC West outright. I'm now out of $25. |

The Browns exceeded my expectations in every facet of the game, including defense. They actually had a pass rush and sacked the Big Dumb Oaf today! To have a realistic shot at the end to tie (but not being able to because Phil Dawson couldn't hit a long-distance FG if his life depended on it), I'm happy with it. Derek Anderson forgot how to throw accurately in the 2nd half - he had looks but failed to take advantage. I am glad he didn't make any dumb mistakes. Actually the Browns protected the ball VERY well. To have your only turnover on a play where your RB is fighting and pushing the pile to turn a 5 yard gain into 7, well I'll take that. And did the Steelers' vaunted D even sack Anderson once? Hmmm. I think the Browns do have a shot at winning out if they keep putting up the points. They continue to be in every game they play, right to the end. Steelers? There's no way in heck you beat the Patriots. Unfortunately. |
Re: 2007 NFL Pick-em: Week 10
The steelers won the game, and as bad as they played in the first half, they woke up in the second half and outscored the Browns 25-7. Special teams was horrible as usual. At 7-2 the steelers could lose two more games and still lead the division. I think it speaks volumes when a team has nothing going for them in the first half and can come out in the second half and make enough plays to win the game.
The Steelers pressured Anderson, but didn't sack him because Winslow needs someone to cover him and most of the sack masters (or decoys) were doing such. 14 of those points are because of kickoff returns (one TD and one to the goal line), and another TD came off of a short field from a Big Ben interception. It was sloppy and as bad as Roethlisberger looked he finished with a 99.9 rating and 49 yards rushing, not bad. The better team won and thats all that matters. Its cool to know that the Steelers-Browns rivalry is back though. Maybe these teams will meet again in the playoffs. |

Who saw that coming? 23-0 then 21 unanswered then Vinatieri missing a 20 something yard field goal. Plus 6 INT for Manning. Some game
