On NASA's site there is no link to SOAP's webcast though. Is that just because it is not set up yet?

From what I've seen most of the teams shown so far are high high number teams (lowest maybe a 1600), so it's not unexpected in my book. No 75 yet with their arm vs. 25 with their shooter... thing.... lifter.... elevator... stuff.

Hmm, remind me again...balls have to be removed from the overpass to be considered in play, therefore if a ball never left the overpass it doesn't count for the endgame correct?

There's a very fast robot with bright blue bumpers who I foresee racking up a lot of points in rough-handling penalties tomorrow if their drivers don't start being a bit more courteous. They plowed into several robots at full speed trying to complete laps.

Edit: 2016, looks like. Very fast robot (5 laps in the match I watched), but my impression was they were a bit lax in avoiding slower traffic.

Edit2: ooo, low-number match coming up.

Not seeing a whole lot of "bumping to pass" going down...

A lot of high speed collisions though. Intentional or no, it's impossible to tell.

Still on the fence on whether or not those are going to be called as penalties...

These practice sessions are getting rough. No rougher than past years, but a lot rougher than I'd thought, since there was a lot of effort in the rules to tone down the contact this year.

Interesting to see 25 fail the one hurdle, looks like they either need a pretty good velocity or to be really close to the overpass to hurdle, may be interesting when pilups occur around their finish line.

Haha, 1547 looks like it is barely bigger than its battery.

Wow, 25 is amazing. Though it was interesting to see them stopped by a slower robot in their runup.

Are they not running the practice match schedule outlined in the FIRST manual? They might be behind and wanting to speed it up, I have just started watching.

From The Tournament:
The first five minutes of each practice match will start with a 15-second hybrid period,
followed by a “free-form” session, in which the ROBOTS may be exercised to evaluate
operational characteristics, gain driver experience, determine system robustness, etc.
During this five-minute period robots avoid robot-to-robot interaction.

(15 sec Hybrid, 4:45 Teleop)

The second five minutes of each practice match will be conducted as a “competition
match” with approximately two minutes for set up, two minutes and fifteen seconds of
regular game play (including operations), and one minute to clear the field.

(Normal Match)

Sweet 1547 =P

Waldo's speed and size will be good for 7+ laps a match, even in traffic!

Looks like they're just running 2 "competition matches" with the same teams.

1547's drivers are great. 25 looks good, as usual. Should be easy to play keep away with them, though.
