I haven't seen any information regarding this yet, so I have to ask. Will DSK be making an appearance this year? I've been looking forward to hearing some more awesome music.

I'm pretty sure that DSK is performing after the talent show on Friday night.

Early July, I would anticipate this week.

Confirmed. I've heard through the grapevine that they have some surprises up their sleeves. Should be a good time for all.

I hear that they are giving away very cheap (maybe free?) gas.

The team list on the website has not been updated in several weeks and doesn't include the last 3 changes.

We planned on having the list finalized on July 1. However, since we had some late drops, we are still working our way through the wait list.

Once we get the final 2 teams confirmed, the list will be updated and posted.

Sorry for the delay.

That would actually be kinda nice if I decide to rent that Mustang I'm looking at while in town. :D

Re: 2008 IRI (Indiana Robotics Invitational)

So a month ago we changed our robot from center wheel to real wheel drive and added taller gears for more speed. We we got together for the first time to test it out and get a little practice tonight.

We it was faster but we had too much weight on the front of the robot and had some traction problems.

After discussing adding ballast and moving the battery Tim suggested we make it a front wheel drive insisting that it would drive and turn much better. After some discussion we decided to remove the entire superstructure and turn it 180 degrees to make the robot front wheel drive.

Our planned quick practice session turned into a four hour thrash. I really wanted to get some sleep tonight, sigh.

Sometimes I hate IRI!

BTW Lynn now drives and turns like a dream, now we just have to work out a few wiring problems and get a few hours of driving practice.

Could someone please provide an update on the status of the IRI webcast preparations and when a link might be posted?

It's exceedingly more convenient to communicate this information to people back home before we leave than to find a way to do it after we arrive.

Also, if I remember correctly, no video match archive of the 2007 IRI exists, which is a shame considering how great an event it was. Will someone actively be archiving and posting match vids for the 2008 event?

Perhaps this needs its own thread once the information is known?

I'm trying to find a good mall in Indianapolis for our team to go to Saturday evening after IRI. Can anyone from the area recommend a good one to go to? I've tried google, and it's a pain really seeing what the malls have to offer.

Castleton Mall is nearby, and is one of the biggest malls in the area.

Thanks! That's probably the one I'm thinking of that we went to in 2005. I remember it was pretty large and had lots of good stores.
