Online youtube video sessions anyone!? :D

So, I was wondering over this month, shoudn't there be tutorials that we people could make, if we had the ability to make video tutorials to other people and help them with whatever is needed to learn? So with that idea in mind, I decided that I would make video sessions every few days/weeks or so, talking about the important fundamentals when it comes to understanding the terminology of 3d studio max, understanding how to make good animations, and understanding how to make really good looking creations, and all the stuff in between. They are going to be between somewhere around 2-10 minutes long, and should cover general topics and some specific ones, essential topics that many would be thankful for knowing about. Basically, these are going to be lessons I am willing to record and put on youtube that are easy to learn and understand, and go into some deep concepts so that YOU TOO can create renders and animations like the pros do, pretty easy ;). Sometime within this week, I will start the trend. Any comments and/or suggestions and/or anything else, just say it here :D. Hope everyone will learn a lot from these youtube videos, it should be quite the quality information you need to be ready for this year's competition! If anyone else has any videos or tutorials that they would like to make and show or tell, or something related on these lines, or just discuss the topic at hand, always feel free to post here! As always, good luck teams in your future endeavors.

I'll watch them. I have only a very basic grasp of 3Ds max. Modeling and constraining things are the worst. About as far as I get is making the cool animations that move the cameras around and stuff.

Looking forward to this. :)

I'm in for teaching too. My specialty is characters personalities, rigging, Organic modeling, and character animation. I don't normally have the time to sit down and type out a tutorial but if you can catch me online. (My AIM account is Buddyb309) I will be glad to help you out with any question or take a look at your project and give you a few tips. (as soon as I get max 2008) I will always take time to help out a mind who has the willingness to learn.

Alright. I have finished the first video, and god it was my first time doing something like this, lol. I had to go with 5ish retries because of screwups and crashes, and just not giving all of the information needed. The next video will definitely broadcast information better than this one. This video was opening statements and a bit about lofting and boolean modeling. Couldn't fit all of the good stuff in there, just the basics, in 10 minutes. Guess later on I'll go into more detail with both topics at another time. Next lesson will be modeling terrain. Sounds like fun :D

The video will be released sometime around the afternoon of Wednesday, after I review it with the team I'm in, team 555 ;). I have to keep in touch with them on what I'm doing 3ds max related, which I haven't really been doing the past 3 years, lol.

Ok, 2 videos released! This is actually my first time doing this, so forgive me for any studdering and stuff.. I've done this like, never ago, lol. I put it on revver because I don't have a 10 min limit, just a 100MB limit. Video #3 will be out tomarrow, maybe 4, who knows ;). Over time I'll get better and better at this, with each video, and each lesson will go more in depth and stuff. This will also improve my voice I guess, lol.

Awesome! My team hasn't had any kind of mentor help ever (to my knowledge), and this year our entire animation group (4 people) is new to animation, robotics, and 3DS Max.

I'll definetly tell them about these videos and tell them to get the "bible".

Well, I have changed the location of where I host the videos. Greg Marra showed me an AWSOME video upload site which has HD capabilities, and it allows the techsmith capture codec :D. I'm not sure if anyone else is able to view these in HD, but I sure can, and it's crystal clear. My profile is at http://www.vimeo.com/user313534 and you can find all of the online tutorials from there! Enjoy!
