Re: VEX Drive Trains 2007
You can also de-score the platforms. However I don't think de-scoring will be a big thing at the regional events. I haven't seen any strategies really using the low goals or the platform for scoring. If the robots can't score on the posts they go to get the goals.

Re: VEX Drive Trains 2007
More Robotics participates in a local VEX tournament in the fall to prepare for FRC. The game was to pick marbles out of a pit in the middle, and fill up teeter totters. Our team decided to use an Omni drive so we could be very manuverable. The Omni drive worked very well for what we needed.

Re: VEX Drive Trains 2007
My team is using a 4 wheel design (but that will be changing very soon ;)) with chain. It has a two speed transmission, similar to the one we used in last years FVC competition with a small change.
This is the test bot we made over the summer Thats a little dated, but the transmission is no different. Best of luck to all FTC teams! Regards, Team Unlimited (FTC #1) and its members |

Re: VEX Drive Trains 2007
We're using 6WD with 4 1:1 all purpose wheels, and 2 front large omniwheels. I'll put up pics as soon as I can.

Re: VEX Drive Trains 2007
team 93 is using a 6WD with 4 inch wheels, the two back ones are powerd with a 60-36 gear ration and unpowered large omnis in the front... we will probably be working on a more complex one for our next regional;)
