DJing a FIRST event

I'm interested in DJing a first competition (not particularly picky as to where, preferably within a day's drive of Washington, DC). How would I go about volunteering to do that?

Just so you know...

FIRST hires companies to Host events so you should look at off season and scrimmage competitions in your area.

I'd suggest looking at the white paper on the subject of DJing if you haven't already since not only does it provide suggestions for music and advice, but, it also lists some of the off season competitions.

On that same note, you might want to check out FLL and FTC events near you. At least here in NJ, the school/company that hosts the competition does not hire a DJ, so you might be able to get a start there.
