2007 NFL Pick-em: Playoffs

Playoff time!

Here's how picking and scoring will go for playoff predictions this year:

Submit your playoffs brackets (just like March Madness).
1 point for a correct Wild Card playoff-game prediction.
2 points for a correct Divisional playoff-game prediction.
4 points for a correct AFC/NFC Championship prediction.
8 points for a correct Super Bowl prediction.

How the playoffs will work out:
AFC Seeding:
1. New England Patriots
2. Indianapolis Colts
3. San Diego Chargers
4. Pittsburgh Steelers
5. Jacksonville Jaguars
6. Tennessee Titans

NFC Seeding:
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Green Bay Packers
3. Seattle Seahawks
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
5. New York Giants
6. Washington Redskins

Wild Card match-ups are:
AFC
Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers
Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers
NFC
Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks
New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Divisional match-ups will be:
Lower seed of the 2 AFC Wild Card winners at New England Patriots.
Higher seed of the 2 AFC Wild Card winners at Indianapolis Colts.
Lower seed of the 2 NFC Wild Card winners at Dallas Cowboys.
Higher seed of the 2 NFC Wild Card winners at Green Bay Packers.

Simple playoff bracket up to the Super Bowl.
Higher seed is always the home team and the AFC representative will be the home team for the Super Bowl this year.

Good luck with the playoff picks and have a happy new year (and kickoff).

^^ I don't care if either team wins (I like them both...) ... I don't mind GB either but Cowboys are a home team for me (or will be next year).

*Disclaimer*: I'm not insane nor am I stupid, I will make this clear, I don't see the playoffs as a predictable thing and in doing so I am not picking straight or on actual knowledge. Instead I'm merely picking on what I want to happen-- even though the odds are astronomical--I am, in my picks and otherwise, loyal to one team and don't see my self winning this round of CD pick em' anyway. With these following picks I am officially filling a lead balloon and guaranteeing that it will float. All in fun chaps and see you next football season for regular season Pick em'.

Wait, you mean get lucky with a bad TD call to "defeat" the Colts in the AFC Championship, then lose in humiliating fashion to the Cowboys in the Super Bowl, right? It's the 1995 season all over again!

The Jaguars would play the Patriots because they would be the lowest seed and the Chargers would Colts.

Re: 2007 NFL Pick-em: Playoffs

Wild Card Round:
Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers
Too many injuries for the Titans.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers
Too many injuries for the Steelers.
Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks
Redskins are playing hard and have a huge edge in momentum.
New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bucs got to rest up the starters, expect them to be ready for the G-men. Plus: Eli doesn't help.

Divisional Round:
Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots
Although the Jags have the team to win in this situation, I don't think they can compete with the Patriots.
San Diego Chargers at Indianapolis Colts
Colts stepped up last year when it counted and Peyton won't throw 6 INTs this time.
Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys
Curse of the too many Pro Bowlers. (Ken Hamlin = Starting Free Safety? that's not right, even if he is replacing Sean Taylor.)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Green Bay Packers
Favre and the Pack D win a close one.

Conference Championships:
Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots
It's the Colts Revenge Tour! Lost to Chargers and Patriots in regular season. Colts win in the post-season.
Washington Redskins at Green Bay Packers
Balance wins this game. Packers lack a good running game, while the Redskins have Clinton Portis.

Super Bowl XLII:
Washington Redskins "at" Indianapolis Colts
Repeat. Because I'm a Colts fan. :p

It's.....no longer Romo time.

I could have sworn I picked the Giants to beat the Cowboys, but alas. Perhaps I waffled when I thought picking two major upsets (Jacksonville over New England was the other - started out promising....) this week was too much....

Anyway, go Chargers and Giants. Fun Super Bowl matchup, mainly because you know the NFL networks would be crying at the loss of ratings such a matchup would bring. That, and the Patriots would not be there....

The forecast for the NFC championship is a high of 4*, winds at 13mph.

If only it would snow about 7", then we'll get to see football as it should be played.

Re: 2007 NFL Pick-em: Playoffs

I agree. Football should be played outdoors in the elements. I don't like indoor stadiums with climate control.

I know it's late but I've been a packer fan all my life, and I say the Pac goes all the way.

By better weather, I hope you mean for the Packers. I don't think the Giants would consider temperatures in the negatives 'good weather'.
