ultrasonic sensor problems...

i can't figure out how to work the ultrasonic sensor. it works just fine when i use the test program on easyC but i cant get it to work on any of the others. i did everything that the manual said and googled it but it still wont work. can anyone help me?

Can you be a little more specific in your description? it says what it is supposed to and shows the sensor is working when i download the test code(it shows on the terminal window)

Does the sensor work with the test program? yes

What are you trying to do with your program? avoid obstacles

Can you post your program? if i could i wouldn't know how, just joined

Are you using EasyC or another compliler? im using EasyC

Are you using the IFI or Vex controller?what is IFI?

You need to give as much information as possible when asking a question. Saying its broken and you googled does not help much. A good guide to asking questions is here: How To Ask Questions The Smart Way

A much better start....

From your note I get that you use EasyC with the Vex controller. You did the sample program and the Ultrasonic part works. You are now trying to write your own robot code to avoid things.

1)Is the Ultrasonic plugged in the same way as it was for the test program?

2)Do you have the same set of ultrasonic calls in your program, in the same order?

3)Did you try putting a PrintToScreen after the GetUltrasonic call to see if you are getting a value back?
