http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/2008_frcwebcasts.php has the kickoff animation in a wide variety of formats.

I downloaded from the NASA site, and tried Windows Media, Quicktime, Real and Itunes to play the animation video, but none worked. (Probably my fault - I am using Vista!)

Try using VideoLAN (VLC): http://www.videolan.org/
Also, to use Windoze Media Player, get the DivX codec(s): http://www.DivX.com

im running vista, works for me! takes so long to buffer though!
