Missing parts

It looks like our kit was missing some of the sensors. Does anyone know the proper procedure for requesting new ones?

We were missing sensors too (Gyro, etc.)

Maybe everyone is missing them?

Re: Missing parts

Per Section 10.1.2 of the Game Manual, the team main contact or alternate must submit Replacement Parts Request through a link that's available in TIMS. This must be completed by 11:59 pm Wed. (Jan 9).

At the Los Angeles Kick-off, the sensor strip was included in a separate bag (not in a bin) that also included two motors, three vibration isolators and maybe something else (memory lapse now in effect).

Re: Missing parts

We're also missing sensors.

From 10.1.1
Quote:

If you find that certain Kit Parts are missing or damaged, you will need to submit a "Replacement
Parts Request" by 11:59pm (EST), January 9, 2008. The Replacement Parts Request link will be
posted on the Team Information Management System (TIMS) after the Kickoff event. Replacement
parts will be shipped only via this online request system.

I've gone in, but the link either isn't up yet, or I've missed it.

Thats probably why we can't find it, b/c we are also missing the isolators.

I agree, I don't see the link in TIMS either. It'll probably appear tomorrow (Monday).

FYI, our sensors were in the Electronics Kit, not the black tote, you may want to check there although I assume you already have.

Re: Missing parts

Our sensor strip (which we picked up at the LA kickoff) was in a bag just like the one Mr. Brinza described.

Re: Missing parts

Ah yes, I now recall being told that plastic bags with vibration isolators, etc. were late in being shipped to some West Coast kickoffs.

I figure as well that the link will be up in TIMS tomorrow.

Re: Missing parts

The link for Replacement Parts is now up in TIMS. It is in the right column on the Team Summary page.

**FIRST EMAIL**/Reminder - Replacement Parts Request Process

Greetings Teams:

Section 10.1.1 of the Competition Manual reviews the proper procedure for submitting a “Replacement Parts request”. The text below restates the procedure for teams.

Replacement Parts Request Procedure
After receiving and checking all items in your Kit of Parts (KoP), should you determine you are missing a part(s), or need a replacement part(s) you must use the FIRST "Replacement Parts Request" system for ordering the part(s).
Parts requests will be handled through this online system only.
The Replacement Parts Request system is now accessible via the Team Information Management System (TIMS).
To begin the process of submitting a Replacement Parts Request, team main or alternate contacts will:
  • Log into TIMS
  • On the right side of the Team Summary page, under the "Kit of Parts" header, click on the link to "Submit a Replacement Parts Request HERE;"
  • Follow TIMS instructions to complete a Replacement Parts Request
VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!
This is a "one time only" opportunity to submit a Replacement Parts Request. Please make sure your request is both accurate and complete prior to pressing the "Confirm Request" button.
Once the request is submitted and confirmed there can be no changes to it.
Replacement Parts Requests will be processed and shipped to teams in a timely manner. Please make sure your Shipping Contact information is accurate and complete in TIMS as this is to whom the parts will be shipped.
Please note the system will not allow teams to request a quantity of parts higher than the number originally sent with the KoP. This system is also not to be used to order additional or purchased parts.

Deadline Date and Time:
All requests must be placed by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, January 9, 2008.

Go Teams!

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Reminder - Replacement Parts Request Process

Are there any corrections to the KOP checklist?

MrForbes 07-01-2008 11:35

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Reminder - Replacement Parts Request Process

If there are revisions to the checklist, or any of the rules or other documents, you'll find them here

http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc...nt.aspx?id=450

and the team contact will also receive a FIRST EMAIL

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Reminder - Replacement Parts Request Process

I've seen no word yet, but that's the kind of thing that'll come out in the team updates as Jim said. Tuesday...

1.6.4 - Team Updates
After the Kickoff, Team Updates provide rules updates, important information about parts, administrative reminders/deadlines. These documents are posted on the FIRST Web site. Our Team Updates schedule is Tuesday by 5PM and Friday by 10AM.

I thought we were missing the sensors too--then I checked the motor bag. (L.A. kickoff) I saw all four in there.
