Cylinder Weight
Greetings,
How much does a two inch bore, 8inch stroke bimba cylinder weigh? |
Re: 2 inch bore
Dunno. But I can tell you everything about what it looks like, because it will be very similar to McMaster part #6498K482. I was hoping that it would have shown the total weight of my order, and then I would have been able to help you out.

Re: Cylinder Weight
According to the Bimba Catalog, page 1.59, a 318-DXP cylinder weighs 2.82 pounds without any mounting parts.
In general when you have a question about a part, go to the manufacturer's web site and check their product page or catalog. Don |
Re: Cylinder Weight
I would agree with Don on this one because we have a 2" bore with a 24" storke that is at least 10lbs because it is real heavy.

Re: Cylinder Weight
Bimba Cylinder weights, from the 2003 pneumatics manual:
Approximate weight calculations for custom clinders, not including the rod clevis or pivot brackets: 3/4" Bore 0.21 lbs. + 0.03 lbs. per inch of stroke 1/2" Bore 0.73 lbs. + 0.08 lbs. per inch of stroke 2" Bore 1.62 lbs. + 0.15 lbs. per inch of stroke So 1.62+0.15*8 =2.82, sounds like same as the catalog. |
