Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
Hey guys, here is our robot as of week 5
http://wiredcats2415.com/wiredcats/videos.html Also on this link is our animation. Our robot is a 6wd powered by 4 Cims A vandoor motor powers the hinge and it is an FP that does the sucking. This was the very first time they tested the robot so it isn't the best driving the arm moves a bit faster now and they can do around 4 hurdles in 2 minutes on an empty field. All these other robots look GREAT. Cant wait to see you all Thursday |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
Is there going to be a webcast of the Peachtree Regional? So far, I have been unable to find any listing, etc. Please reply if you know.
The www.metalinmotion.com web page has pictures of several area machines that I think are coming to Peachtree. Please scroll down the home page and click on the respective picture for a closer view. Good luck to all teams this year.:) |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
according to http://robotics.arc.nasa.gov/events/...s.php#webcasts there will not be a webcast for Peachtree

Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
is there not a team that has the resources that is willing to do a webcast? b/c i dont think we have the neccessary tools...
|
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
It will definately be a long Friday for me without a webcast! Hopefully someone has just forgotten to list where to find it. I also noticed on the official Peachtree webpage that the team listings for this regional are teams from 2006! Goodness.
Good luck to all teams this year. |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
meh... Well what sort of resources are required for a webcast or even an uploadable video archive of the regional? I've (personally, not team) wanted archives for a few years now :D They're cool to show sponsors...
Oh, and am I going crazy or is there some reason MiM isn't listed on the offical team list for Peachtree Regional, https://my.usfirst.org/myarea/index....mlist&event=GA ? Are there other teams coming that aren't on there? O.o |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
It's definitely there. Sort by team number and look again. Team 343 is definitely on that least. However, their official name, as lister there, might be something different than Metal In Motion. The official name usuall mentions a few, or all sponsors, as well as the sponsoring schools.

Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
Hi, Nancy:
We are listed as the School District of Oconee County and are the third team listed on the numerically sorted list. I guess we are considered an "old timer" team as we are in the three digit spectrum. MiM is for Metal In Motion Team 343. I am unsure about what is required for a web cast. I am disappointed that there isn't one. Surely with the resources available around that metropolitan area, someone would have taken on that challenge. But, maybe someone did and it just didn;t work this year. Good luck to all teams this year!:p |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
There will be a webcast of the regional , will there be not ?!
 |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
Hi, Felix:
I am unable to find a link for a web cast from Peachtree. I e-mailed their contact two days ago and received no reply. So, I guess we will be "blacked out" on this one. Good luck everyone. Good luck to your team(s) Felix. :D |
Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
Yes, there will be no webcast for this regional. Next year we will definetly try to help in putting a webcast up but until then, sorry everyone.

Re: 2008 PeachTree Regional
@ Gil and Sumadin:
Yes, sorry about that, 'twas user error indeed, doh! =) So, as for archiving (and hopefully later uploading) the regional videos, we were able to find the orange press box (it's right next to the TV! Never paid attention to it before :D) after asking the nice people behind the curtain. Apparently we're bringing in the correct cables, a laptop, and an external HD (just in case) to grab stuff from the press box. Can anyone help us with regards to all the other stuff (compression, transcoding, parsing into matches, etc.) ? I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow :O Whew, what a long day! Yay for passing inspection at 120.0 lbs (don't breath on it!) :P Good luck tomorrow everyone! :D ==Other threads of use for recorders== <Archiving Recorded Regionals 2008> http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...d.php?p=717374 <Video Recording Station> aka "press box" http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...d.php?p=717747 |

Talk with the Lead Queuer, Steve Roberts, early tomorrow morning before we get started in the matches. He has captured video for us here for FTC in Georgia in the past and can possibly help you then and there. However, it is going to be a zoo tomorrow and you might not get a chance to get with him. Mannie (I'll be one of the scorekeepers). |
