Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
As of today 973 is a good place. Chips have been flying for a week, our Frame is welded and our design is only a few steps from complete.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
This is our Rookie Year. And I think we are behind schedule. Because the first week has ended and we still don't have a final design. I am pretty much worried.:ahh:

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Ok, NOW we are behind schedule. It took us 3 hours to get keys into our gearboxes. We kept bending them.
|
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Well it is not the begining of week two!! :) so we meet together again in a couple of hours. The one thing that our team is really far behind on is money. :(

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Our problem now is that the students are getting tired of driving the finished robot..........
YEAH RIGHT! |
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
yeah... we are prototyping our gripper, and have most of our base done... so we aren't doing terrible, but we aren't where we would like to be...

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Now we are driving our robot:) It was so funny:) One of the main guys came and told us to go to the shop, because we cannot test our robots upstairs. But the main thing is there is no place that has carpet except the hall way:) Anyway they will get used to:)
Prototyping is still going on, we are almost done. (We have a break tomorrow this is the first break after the kickoff)On wednesday probably we will be done with our prototype and attach it on the chassis.. It will be cool!!:) !!!!!!!!!!!!I loVE FRC!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
I think we're doing pretty well . . . but I will never, ever say that "we are ahead of schedule." It's a curse. :D

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
we're doing pretty well. Leanred how to use the lathe today (woot), got parts ready for bot #2 and we're advancing bot #1, gonna get some aluminium stock and a new vise soon, can't wait.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
The robot is now built, and has been handed over to the electrical team to mount all the victors and electrical components. Things are farther along then last year now.
|
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We are pretty far behind where /I/ think our team should be. I thought we would at least have our chassis constructed by now, but as it turns out, the design is more complicated than anticipated. Our drivetrain also takes some doing. Also, the rest of our team is fairly new, so everyone needs to learn how to program and set up electrical work pretty quick. But we're getting there...I think the electrical people and the programmers are waiting for us mechanical people to finish modifying our sketch and make up our friggin' minds on something.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
team 1361 has been behind schedule, we were behind shcedule before we went to kickoff.
|
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Our robot is now in the wiring stage of development. We should be driving and programming next week (1/27/08 - 2/2/08).

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
- Chassis 90% done
- Lift in the middle of assemblyman - Hurdler device design is final and can start being fabed - grabber is still in the mind of one of our mentors - Herder is 75% - 85% done - electrical is just ab out done - pneumatics's haven't been started - OI deck is in design - autonomous mode is just about debugged - the rest of the code has barely been started We are just a little over 33% of the way though build season and our bot is 32% (according to out time tables) done. Things will come together very quickly, but we have a lot of work until that happens. |
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
1458 is a little behind this year, we made a bad decision in rushing our base and the corners aren't square even though i've been looking at it pretty much all day today confused on what's wrong. Our manipulator is protoed and we're working on our lifter to lift the manipulator.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We have the drivetrain ready, but there was a slight glitch in the rack-and-pinion (I think that's it) steering system. Should be done on Friday.
OI has been determined and is in production alongside the robot. It's unique, that's for certain. Programmers are still waiting on at least a basic chassis, which when they do have one can start working on code. Two of the three are learning during the build, so they can have something to do. The drivers will start practicing at this point. Then the engineers/builders will continue working on the manipulator. All-in-all I'd say that we are a tad bit behind schedule, but not too far. |
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We are about a week behind schedule. We got our base driving today, but we were hoping to do that last weekend. Our chain tensioners still aren't done, but the base is drivable. The goal is still finishing by the end of week four and it is still achievable (the manipulator shouldn't take longer than the base did); however, we'll have to work real fast on the weekends to pull it off. We found some time to mess with one of the crappy, white KoP joysticks and I think we may have it near a CH flightstick in quality of feel. The pots are still lower quality, but at least the stick feels better. Unfortunately, I messed up on my wiring of the shifting switch, which was discovered only after it was epoxied in, so I'll have to redo the mods to a different joystick.

we're about at the same stage...eventhough it seems like we only have five days left and i know for a fack that i am running the risk of a heart attack because of it. |
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Our robots is coming together in pieces. we have an electical board and chasis but not drive train or steering or anything for an arm. we just this past week decided on or arm design and drive style. i guess thats about the same as everyone else but it seems like were really far behind schedule
|
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
we actually have a prototype robot that is up and running, and is able to hurdle 5-6 times in 2 minutes with inexperienced drivers.
|
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
were having a ton of snow so its really putting us behind schedual now... :( although we finished are first robot but no the manipulator yet...
|
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
The school strike in Israel doesn't help our teams much as most of us are having morning and evening classes to fill in the gaps and holes it caused.
However, the pneumatics are done and working. The chassis is ready. Not much else apart from that... |
Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Our chasis is almost complete, the drive train and the wheels still need to be mounted. I spent this whole weekend and got the eletrical board completely finished. Last year they were waiting on the eletrical board, so its a nice change of things- I can bug them to finish. :D The OI is also finished. We've got a design down for the way we want to move the trackball around, we just have to make it. Lots of programming needs to be done but that usually doesn't take to long. I'd say we're definately ahead of schedule.
