We do have a nice working electronics board, though.

ditto. we're still designing the rest of the bot tho.

We are planning to have driving robot by the 13th. Here are some pictures to show our development, http://picasaweb.google.com/john.h.842
We plan making the drive train done as fast as possile, leaving us plenty of time for programming and designing extras. This plan have work well for three years now.

i totally agree. tomorrow we're going to finish the robot design.

Team 1757 has 1/3 of an operational drivetrain, and a design in mind, but nobody has done any real designing. As drivetrain guru, I'm a little worried about the rest of the bot, but I'm so focused on finally (after two years of depressing failure) getting a simple and effective drivetrain built that I'm sure the rest of the team has everything else under control...

Well, I'm pretty sure...

I mean, I saw them playing with a pneumatic cylinder...

That counts as designing, right...?

Maybe I am worried...

well team a prototype six wheel drive train the new electronic r working on and the real six wheel drive drive is 90 percent done and should be up and running saturday our next meeting and one of our mentors who machines all our parts should have the rest or the mechacism done by saturday. our programmers r working on the hybid mode. so i say we r ahead or schedule.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

We seem to be on track with our deadlines so far. Our new drive train design was supposed to be finished last night, and everything is supposed to be designed by the time we close the shop on Wednesday, and our drive train should (hopefully) be completed by the end of week 3. We still haven't chosen a manipulator, but we're prototyping a few different ideas right now. So far, things are going much, much better than last year.

Unfortunately, our shop will be closed during finals week (week 4), so we have 5 weeks to finish a robot when we've had intense difficulties doing so in 6 in the past.

The CAD finished uo most of the robot on inventor last night as all the 80/20 was ordered as well as more victors and motors. :-)

were about on schedual now.

Dunno about everyone else, but we're still here waiting here for kickoff to start.

We have like, 4-5 prototype manipulator systems, a couple with a frame mockup with it. A few drivetrain proposals are on those frames too.

We're hurdling. No word on hybrid/autonomous until we're more clear on our robot design.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

We have most of our designs squared away, the chassis is almost complete, and the programming team has finished creating code for the mecanums that's very organized (almost as if it would be organized in an object-oriented language like Java). We're starting on getting PID working (for the first time ever).

I'd say we're ahead of where we were last year, so we're in good shape.

Especially considering we still haven't received our Kit of Parts.

We're still in our design stage, working with things on paper and inventor, but all teams have good ideas that they are working with. We should have something finalized, hopefully, tomorrow. We're on schedule :)

We are still developing the chassis in sketches and Inventor, and should be expected to build the chassis next week and several other things

Good to see how other teams are doing, I'll have to bookmark this.

We're about on schedule. It's my first year on the team, but it seems pretty rigorous. We've got some brainstorming done, and I'm pretty sure tonight will be it for prototyping. After that, we'll flesh out more work on the manipulator and get it fabricated ASAP. Since we've decided on the drive train, we'll be fabricating that now. Programming won't start for a while, but I hope we can at least try to get SOMETHING going soon. Better to start early, I say.

We're completely done, and it's already in the crate :D . And if you believe that, I have this cool bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you...

We're essentially final on the chassis & drive system, parts ordered, some assembly is starting. Still some room for tweaking.

We've god good ideas for the manipulator, but nothing firm yet.

I'd put us a 2 days behind at the moment, not great for 4 days into the season...

I have a bridge in Brooklyn, too. Where's yours?

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

we had a meeting saturday after kickoff, and pretty much evaluated everything and decided what we wanted our robot to do. since then we've completely rethought the idea maybe twice, but still came out pretty much the same design. our chassis is laid out, and we're doing some prototyping for our manipulators. our programmer has done as much as he can already, and even has the drive code pretty much written, and we're just waiting for parts to build the drive train, hopefully done by the weekend but unlikely, so he can make that work

we already received things from mcmaster, and our things from andymark were back ordered, so they'll get here tomorrow hopefully, and apparently some other things somehow got caught up at the customs office, so they won't get here till next week.

compared to last year, we're at least a full week ahead, if not two weeks. However, since we our parts aren't here yet, we've resorted to dis-assembling an older robot to make it into a cart
