How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

Our team has gone threw about 3 complete robot designs and finally last night parts started to get order. Other then that, we have been doing alot of training, but the build season is going to really kicking off for us next monday and have a running chassis hopefully by a week from friday.

Do alot of teams have there chassis and electrical boards done?

Programming Working on Hybrid Mode?

Chassis built or designed?

You're further ahead than my team was last year. We realized about this time that our design did not fit in the 72x72 box (somehow we overlooked that rule) and had to throw it out and redesign...

This year, we currently have shipments coming in soon from AM (mostly drive components: wheels, idlers, two speeds, sprockets), and some stuff from McMaster (mostly electrical parts, plus some aluminum angle for axle mounts). Our goal is to assemble the drive system by early next week (maybe by the end of the weekend, depending on shipping times). Our [mechanism] design is currently in prototyping, and if it performs well, it will be built pretty quickly in the next couple of weeks (it isn't very complicated).

Programming hasn't started yet, but I hope to get that moving either this weekend or early next week.

Ha. There's not a schedule!:D (just kidding)

We're doing okay, and should chose our final design based on 5 other designs by Friday.

Good luck this year!

My team is surprisingly ahead this year, but no doubt it will catch up to us. We dismantled our bot from last year and set up the drive train on it that we would be using this year so we could practice with it. And the programmers or working with vex right now to try and get all of the program ready well before the ship date. Good luck to everyone else

For once, we're actually ahead of schedule.

Well holidays here are not helping us a lot =/

Most of our mentors and engineers *and also our main sponsor* are on 'vacation '

Due to this forced not-working time n also because our KoPs are not here yet, are doing only some researches, studying bout how can we do Dean's homework well...and this theorical work...
:(

lilac has your team done any brain storming with the game? that is always a good start and then you could give your mentors an idea where you want to go.

We're ahead of last year, but still probably behind some other teams. :(
We do have a nice working electronics board, though.

Our team is operating way ahead of the ball this year (pun intended)... as a rookie team last year, none of the students knew anything about engineering or programming going into the season... this year we set up a fairly comprehensive series of Saturday morning lectures to go over all the basics, which already puts us about 2 weeks ahead of where we were last year.

Oh, yeah

we have, but only using MSN =/

I really dont know why, our sponsor doesn't like us to meet when there is none mentor, or when we meet outside the school...
so we are brainstorming by the phone too

hahahahah...

*am afraid of the bill in the end of the month!*

We've got some good ideas, but we are seeing if they really worth the try.

We pretty much finished our chassis yesterday, which puts us a day behind our planned schedule. Working with PBS has eaten a number of hours over the past couple days. We are working out the details of our manipulators, and getting encoders and such things installed for the programming team.

Our team is actually a bit behind, as of right now we are trying to figure out the drive train and the speed of the gears to see how fast we want the robot to be going. :ahh:
Our first meeting was yesterday and that went swimingly :D
So hopefully by next monday we will have a design and start on the mechanical part of the robot :)

that's pretty astonishing. Your robots always gets a grade of A+.
We just completed our base and our working on our "Eiffel Tower" pillars now.;)

Ahead of Schedule. Chassis was due to be done by the end of the week -- We're looking at tonight/tomorrow. We've got a few proto grabber mechanisms (3 I think), all are full sized and one is fully functional.

Working with a third party can really slow things down. Its like they want to see certain things based on "their" schedule. But, its only for the benefit of the team. We have something going on similarly with George Lucas films right now.
