Questions on Mecanum Drive Train

Our Team Is Looking At Mecanum Wheels Any Comments comparing turning (not strafing) Compard to 4 wheel drive tank steering turning. Is it just as fast? Also, how about straight forward/reverse speed. Can Mecanum achieve 10-12 feet/ sec? I realizethat Mecanum are not as efficient.

I'm wondering really, what the maximum force of the four biggest motors is ( the most powerful can't give the name or seral number sry)?

With the appropriate control of motor speed and direction, a mecanum drivebase will turn on a dime and give you nine cents change. No skips. No hops. No skids. Just smooth turning, as fast as you want. Sometimes faster, if you're not careful. :)

As for speed, it's all about gear ratios. You'll trade away torque if you want speed, just as with any scheme.
