Re: electrical mount

Electrical box? Are you referring to the robot controller?
We usually get a piece of lexan or sheet aluminum and bolt all of our electronics components to it.
If you clarify your question, we should be able to help you out a little more...

For flexibility, you might want to consider a plywood base and wood screws. Items can be relocated with ease without drilling holes.

Re: electrical mount

yeah we use a lexan mount with a small plastic undercovering. so that the screws do not cut the lexan.

Re: electrical mount

You might want to consider velco-ing the lexan electrical board on like my team did last year. It allows you to quickly remove it (after unplugging the batt. and CIMS) to be able to fix any problems. This works especially well if you have a 2-tiered system, with motors and gearboxes below and electrical up top.

I heard of a team that made a lexan box for their electrical system. After a couple seconds of unplugging, you pull the box out all the electrical is right there. It's much harder to do, and I wouldn't suggest it for a rookie team, but it's a good idea to develop down the road.

Lexan this year. Plywood last year because our laser was down.
