Sounds like a plan, maybe. Though I'm not sure when... maybe right after alliance selections if you aren't a captain? (Oh, and we looked like a circle of guys from several teams and the crew.;)) Or we designate the 1726-867-1135-842 area as "CD hangout zone". I'll probably be in 1135's pit unless we're competing.

Quick way to find me: The white hard hat. (Or post a who-am-I and I'll find you.)

Jeff (Kane) and I are helping out with the event, but during lunch if we have a quick break we'll come say hi. (BTW sorry to Thunderbots earlier in line, I totally blanked)

Yes, good social indeed!

Here are our scouting results from the Friday matches using the NDS scouting system that one of our members developed. Note that some of the data may be inaccurate due to our scouts getting tired throughout the day, but it is a very good representation of what the stats are for each robot.

although these pictures were taken during the day Thursday, when most of the robots were still being worked on, and thus many robots are incomplete.

Also the match schedule is going to be distributed this morning so I don't have it yet.

Thank you for the pictures. Best of luck to all the teams.

We hope to use our arms and catapult tomorrow as well as have a hybrid mode.

Saturday morning, if there are any great programmers free we need you. We are trying to program our robot to accelerate/move forward, decelerate/move backwards, strafe to the left, strafe to the right For example, forward button one time = half speed forward (~8ft/sec), forward button once again = full speed forward (~16 ft/sec), backwards button hit twice would then put us at half speed, then stop. Strafe would be one button push to reach full speed.

How fast does the FIRST IR board response to a button push? Stop by our pits if you like to help. Team 2404 - TNT.

If you see me, either of you, catch me. White hard hat, blue safety glasses already on.

Nica still hasn't done it...not that I've seen.

Does anyone have any pictures of the field and pit layout?

No, but here's a quick word picture:

Pits: 4 groups of 10 pits, 5 back to back, with one single row of three on each side. All other teams are in a back row even with the loading dock. Inspection and practice field are next to the loading dock.

Field: standard, but the widths around the field are narrow on the sides. There are no bleachers below the side stairs on the lower level.

All told, we're in about two-thirds of the normal space.

im just sad i cant test my skills against the American Gladiators. The ring thingy outside is soooo tempting. Like a big jungle gym.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, 1717 is going to be BIG; and not just this season.

Well, we can't....

I wonder if any GDC members are in town? ;)

here's one video, I did figure out how to get video off the camera, although the quality on this upload was pretty low. This is match 27.

Hey, I want to let scouts out ehre know that while we did absolutely horribly the first three matches, we have straightened out problems we had earlier and are wrking on getting a better hybrid mode working. If EricRobodox actually drives well (I don't know how he is doing personally) we can easily score 2-3 hurdles per match. I think that someone needs to come up with a weighted scouting system that weights the later matches more in the average because those are closer to tha actual capabilities of the robot in the elimination rounds.

Also, i'd like to bring up soemthing that I don't know if other teams are doing. I'm planning on putting together a practice field box of items that our robot needs to bring. This includes one allen wrench and box wrench of each size we use and pliers. Is there anythign else that would be a good general item to put in this type of box, and is this a good idea in the first place? Feedback, criticisms, and suggestions for this type of idea would be welcome.

I have uploaded some of the matches to SOAP. It tends to be very 330 centric at the moment, but eventually all the matches will get up there.

I'm trying to get a few more on our youtube page

http://www.youtube.com/user/frc1726

but they're rather 1726-centric for some reason
