FIRST Back-up Battery Charger
Is the FIRST back-up battery charger made to be get power from the fuse panel or straight from the battery.

Re: FIRST Back-up Battery Charger
You should fuse EVERY power bus coming off the battery. The charge circuit is no exception. It will prevent an overall loss of power if something in that circuit shorts to ground.
To answer your question, technically, it'll work either way. But the smart answer is to determine the max current it will draw, and fuse it. |
Re: FIRST Back-up Battery Charger
<R50> pretty well covers it. The only thing connected straight from the battery is the 120A switch/breaker. You will fuse the charger, as it is a load. Any questions, see the 2008 power distribution diagram.
