Or, have I misunderstood the question? In general, the instructions for connecting just about anyhting in the KOP is in the manual or related pages somewhere.

yes, that diagram, but the thing is that idk where the connectors got to everything....it has little lines and all, but were still confused

and what is the KOP manual?

home depot should be fine,

all you need is some cheap regular carpet, and youre good

The carpet should really have its own thread, but...

The carpet spec is not available on the FIRST website (that I could find), but the Q&A said this. A general description would be low-pile industrial carpet, gray color.

And, on the wiring side, the lines represent wires. Connectors should match the connection on the part you are connecting.

Carpet: There is an official specification, but any smooth, flat, thin carpet will be good enough for now.

KOP Manual: I meant The FIRST Competition Manual. If you have not yet seen that, and are not completely familiar with it, you really need to download and read the whole thing before doing anything else. Really. All of it.

One of the documents is the "recommended practices and tips", read that too.
