Other Than FIRST, What Do You Do?
 

Outside of FIRST, what activities do you, or other people on your team do? I Don't want any posts saying "Sorry, first is my life" because i already knew that so don't fill up the thread.

For my team, we have quiet a few theatre nerds(me being the biggest i think) on our team. Then we got the normal video game addicts and that about sums up just about everyone.

You have time for other than FIRST? Okay...sorry, no posts like that...

When I'm not working for FIRST, or mentoring my high school's FRC team, I web design and create computer graphics. No major companies or anything like that yet, but I of course maintain my own website. You can see a portfolio of my designs at my website. I also do pixel-based and computer (vector-style) graphics.

My most public design has been the website for the Pi Chapter of Mu Beta Psi. Yes, fraternity, yes, I'm female. It's co-ed.

Mu Beta Psi is a National Honorary Music Fraternity, so that being said at one point in my life I did marching band and FIRST. Now, I spend a lot of time doing service for the Rutgers Bands (ie, setting up their drum stand & set for basketball games, providing water and snacks to the marching band during football season, cleaning uniforms, etc.). I still play flute and piccolo on occasion. Of course we plan parties and have fun like regular college kids too. And I just branched out my art skills into my fraternity, and designed them a new Rush shirt for Spring 2008.

I do guitar, tennis, mountain biking, boy scouts, basketball, guitar teaching, and go to my friends house and play airsoft and PS3 (im the best at call of duty for the ps3).

I run my own data-center in my house. That keeps me very busy.
I have school (I'm a full time senior in college as well as a senior in high school.)
I love to play around with various electronic designs I'm currently working on.
And, of course, my girlfriend is the most important thing in my life.

I supposed I'm the typical nerd. With >40 machines running in my house, a LAN party room, and a full fledged cubicle in my room, I couldn't imagine being much more of a nerd.

Well.

Maybe..... If I stopped leaving the house. I guess I'm not THAT bad.

College--I'm a freshman. I hear I have it easy compared to the sophomores and higher.:)

i have two horses, and i am working on level 3 parelli (a form of natural horsemanship) i am learning to play the bass guitar

Up until last summer, most of my days consisted of WoW and an occasional day where I hung out with people.

Summer started, I was at the beach like every day.
Now I do martial Arts.
Go Ice Skating with friends monthly.
Xbox 360 Every Now and than...

I build and fly High Power rockets (hence my username). They are kind of like estes model rockets times a bunch. The one in my sig is just under 11 feet tall, and flies to around 4,000 feet and 4/5ths the speed of sound. Really fun things to build during the offseason :D

Outside the FIRST season, I can be found on my computer or laptop or in the school's theatre (major techie). I also volunteer at the San Diego Maritime Museum.

When I'm not busy with FIRST, I'm reading Tom Clancy or playing video games. I also practice with my airsfot guns (I own 4). It helps me calm down, especially since this is exam week.

I am a devoted first member. From morning till about 4pm i work with my team to accomplish our task for the day. After that i go to wrestling practice(I'm 7-1). I get home at about 8 and then i do my hw. From there its just a repetitive cycle. Until the weekend where i do community service like speaking about engineering at the YMCA,etc. Occasionally i play a football game during the weekend

I'm in Skills USA, specifically: Computer Maintenance Technology. It's ok I guess, personally I like FIRST more. I'm also in California Math League, which is fun.

Work, paintball, school. I don't do much in the way of FRC anymore, team issues and time.

Right now I'm working on getting some servers up. Sometimes I do some concert lighting, mentor a FLL team two times a week(w00t! made it to SC state :) ).LAN parties, and thats about it.

A bunch of kids on team 744 are in the school play or on sports teams. We also have some that are into fishing/boating/kayaking/skateboarding and individual sports. Then a ton are really musicaly inclined.
I play a lot of guitar and drums, and a little piano and clarinet. I also spend a good amount of life sleeping and studying for my AP European History class:mad: .

I work as a full time EMT for the city of Wilmington Delaware, and am a full time Fire Fighter / EMT for Tallyville Fire Dept. and am a volunteer Fire Fighter/ EMT for Minquas Fire Dept of Newport Delaware.
I work part time at some other stations but I don't want to list them .

So other then working I don't do much. I am trying to learn acoustic guitar and get back into shape.

Full time college senior (finally)
Two jobs - Driving ambulances and bouncing
Rugby - I play inside center
Ultimate Frisbee
Random friend things
Planning a wedding - This is harder than it seems
House hunting
Job hunting
Rock Band - No one else wants to drum

And other things as they come up. :D

Besides FIRST...
I have worked at Old Navy for the past year and a half, I am on Leadership Committee at my school (we put on freshman orientation and deal with school issues). I'm also in choir. I used to be involved in a lot of things at my school but I had to prioritize since Robotics takes up soo much time, so pretty much I dropped everything else since being captain of robo is extremely time consuming

hmmm...
I'm an instructor at the Youth Air Force Cadets in Israel ('Gadna Avir')
which is a lot of fun.

I'm training on a special program intended to prepare us to military service
(which is mandatory here, but we try and make the most of it - who does'nt wanna be a fighter pilot?)
It's also very fun, hard as hell, but very rewarding =]

oh and there's school :D

Besides FIRST I...
Have school
Work 2 jobs for about 2/3 of the year
Hang out with friends (lots of pickup football and basketball)
Play baseball, run XC and track
Listen to music
Do other teenager stuff

But most of all without FIRST I can sleep!

I work alot (work study and research projects)
I am trying to find a summer internship and a Co-Op for next year.

I'm pres of the Teens for Life at our school, so i'm involved with quite a few of those activities.
I enjoy the occasional hour of runescape, and several other online games (bowmaster prelude is kinda fun).
I'm also programming a game, its like CDogs (google it... one of the coolest DOS games ever that is free) but x10 cooler. Hopefully I'll have that done by spring so I can share it with you all.

oh... and i have school and homework. :P

I'm in My School's Top Chorus group, The MHS Singers. It takes a lot of practice and such. Other than that, I'm just looking for a job =/

Oh! And I'm attempting to learn Bass =P
