mounting accelerometers & gyros

What kinds of mounting schemes have been tried to dampen the vibrations from the robot to these sensitive sensors? What kinds of materials seem to work best? Rubber, foam, other materials?

TIA

Certainly non-conductive materials!

In the past we have mounted gyros and accelerometers with screws and nuts onto a thin (<1/16") metal plate, with a thin (1/8") piece of hobby foam sandwiched underneath. The screws were not too tight (so the solder points below didn't punch through the foam), then we used blue thread-locker to make sure it stayed. The metal plates were then mounted to the robot frame as necessary.

Thanks for the input Don. I have them mounted with a rubber washer dampening the vibrations. I'll let you know how it works out.
