Team 842 Falcon Robotics Automuns Robot

Here is our robot, well it last years robot but we are testing it. We Mounted two ultrasonic sensor (one in front and a other on the side). We use them to tell us when to turn. Were planning on using it for making laps in Hybrid Mode. Here is a preview of it -

Here is On Board Camera - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFhIpJYAV04

WOAH Cool!!!

Now you just need to find a way to navigate around moving robots!

Do you work in an art gallery :D ?

Nicely done! That's sure to get you a bunch of points in hybrid mode.

I wanna see it go in high gear! :)

Looks like about 20points if i counted right in Hyrbrid (just 15 seconds without taking off from the wall)

Great job!

What type of ultrasonic are you using and did you use any standard drivers or write your own custom driver to the ultrasonic?

We just moved to that room because it was the biggest in the building. But yes it is an art gallery (it is "Young Arts Arizona" and the other room in Purple Wall Studios) but we work in a smaller room right out the hallway. It is an Office Complex.

Re: Team 842 Falcon Robotics Automuns Robot

We're using Ping))) ultrasonic range finders, a PIC18F4585, and MCP4921 D/A converters. For each sensor, the PIC generates the 2 - 5 us start pulse, times the echo pulse, and sends the timer value to a D/A converter, which is pluggged into analog input on the robot controller. The robot can operate with two sensors, but it's more robust with three (to get a second opinion on the end of the wall).

Re: Team 842 Falcon Robotics Autonomous Robot

Does anyone else out there have video of their bot? Autonomous or not?

This year's bot is just a bare frame....hopefully it'll have wheels, transmissions, and chain by Monday night. But we have some video of prototype ball handling stuff on last year's chassis

http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=62576

lotsa fun!

That was great! Great idea with the stored energy in the pistons!!!
Can we use it?!!!!!
